Within 5-minute drive to the beach,Riverstone Accommodation is close to town, close to nature, close to perfect. Our unique accommodation offers a peaceful haven with elegance and complete privacy. Located 2 minutes' drive from the supermarket, hardware store, restaurant, service station and Visitor Information Centre. Our warm, modern double-glazed chalets each feature two seperate bedrooms, kitchen and dining living area and luxuriously appointed bathrooms with under floor heating. Sky tv (sport) Netflix Each chalet has it's own private balcony with outside furniture overlooking beautiful landscaped gardens. Fabulous views overlook the Karamea River, Kahurangi National Park, Mount Stormy and nearby farmland. The guest's barbecue area is private. Riverstone Accommodation is the ideal base for exploring the natural beauty of the Karamea region with a multitude of activities right on our doorstep. We can help with transport within the region, if necessary.
Alistair and Anne-Marie the propriertors of Riverstone Accommodation have worked and holidayed in Karamea for the last ten years and then took the opportunity to purchase Riverstone in May 2015. We would both like to share this well-appointed complex with you, offering extensive knowledge of the Kahurangi National Park and the different activities available in Karamea.
Karamea is probably the best kept secret on the West Coast of the South Island New Zealand and is remembered distinctly by all who visit. The World famous Heaphy track offers young and old an unequalled opportunity to walk or mountain bike amongst Nikau Palm groves and view the rugged West Coast coastline along the fringes of the Kahurangi National Park. The Karamea River is well-renowned for its Brown Trout fly fishing. Anglers can either access the river locally by vehicle or fly into the Kahurangi National Park by helicopter. Numerous bush walks and cycle trails exist in and around Karamea. The best kept of all secrets are the Oparara Caves and the spectacular Lime Stone Arch being the largest in the Southern Hemisphere - a time capsule of the prehistoric past tucked hidden away in the Kahurangi National Park. Relax at one of the local cafes and reflect on your adventures.
