At Grandma’s Cottage, nature is your closest neighbor. Deer often graze peacefully in the meadow nearby, and just 200 meters below the cottage, you’ll find a pond with a canoe available for you to use free of charge. Here, you can try your luck fishing, savor the tranquility, or simply relax by the dock as the water gently laps against it. The cottage spans a spacious 110 square meters and is both cozy and charming. Inside, you’ll find a welcoming hallway, an adjacent kitchen, and a delightful glassed-in veranda with a dining area. The kitchen, living room, and one small bedroom have a ceiling height of 1.89 meters. There are three bedrooms with a total of six beds, providing plenty of space for your stay. With no internet here, it’s the perfect place to truly unwind. Save your surfing and phone calls for your day trips and fully embrace the peaceful atmosphere. Guests are responsible for cleaning the cottage before departure.

For the more adventurous, climb the cliffs and leap into the crystal-clear water. Ferries depart several times a day from Strömstad to the Koster Islands – an experience you shouldn’t miss. In the cottage, we’ve gathered information about our personal favorite restaurants, beaches, and local excursions to help you make the most of your stay. For hiking enthusiasts, there are several scenic trails to explore. The Coastal Path passes right by Grandma’s Cottage, offering stunning views along the shoreline. Another popular trail in the area is the Bohusleden. Be sure to visit Älgafallet – a magnificent waterfall with an impressive drop of 46 meters. The winding river above the falls forms the border between Sweden and Norway. If you’re looking for a spot to swim or paddle, the beautiful Bullaresjön is just a five-minute drive away. This public beach has plenty to offer, including a kiosk, diving platform, and a restaurant with live entertainment during the summer. You can also rent canoes for peaceful paddling adventures. Note that a fishing permit is required to fish here – it can easily be purchased at the nearest shop. For a more private experience, we have a canoe available at our own small pond, where you can enjoy the tranquility of nature. Bohuslän’s landscape is rugged and dramatic, offering a unique natural beauty. Explore the area’s many nature reserves, such as Tjurpannan and Saltö, to fully appreciate this remarkable region. For a special outing, visit the Moose Park in Dals-Ed, where you can encounter these majestic animals up close.
