Villa Katarina is located on the hilly terrain of Vipava, from where the view extends across the Vipava valley, towards the Karst and Italian Friuli. This district, which is the center of the Vipava region, is named "Sv. Katarina" after the church that stands on this site since 15th century and is like a cultural monument, (also after its frescoes), a landmark of the area. The peaceful environment, unspoiled nature and clean air offer the conditions for a comfortable rest or artistic creation. In this accomodation, sports activities and games are also provided to diversify leisure time. Volleyball, badminton or football on the grass, table tennis, cycling...,and for refreshment on hot days there is a small prefabricated pool. The river Vipava flows nerby, which is suitable for water activities, and it is also interesting for fishing. Pleseant evenings are conjured by a fire on the outdoor fireplace, where you can prepare meals and enjoj selected Vipava wines in pleasant company. In the season, fresh vegetables growing in the house garden are available. Pets are also welcome who will definitely feel great here.
Since the main activity in our family is catering ( Gostilna "Sivi Čaven -1894"), we can also, if desidered on the spot or at our restaurant prepare tasting of local wines accompnied with traditional dishies. Welcome!
Despite the fact that the accomodation is secluded, it is only about a 15- minute drive to the city centers (Nova Gorica and Ajdovščina). The shop, poast office, ATM in Branik are three km. away. There is also a lot of restaurants in this area. For swimming in the sea there is a nice placed called Sistiana (near Trieste), to where you can drive cross the Karst in fourty- five minutes. Welcome to Villa Katarina. :)
