Become a master of Vineyard Cottage Janko & Metka. Take a walk through the vineyards. Taste the wine in the cellar and enjoy the quiet nature and magnificent view on hills of Dolenjska. Vineyard Cottages or Zidanice as they are called in Slovene are small charming houses built in the vineyards on picturesque hills of Dolenjska and Bela Krajina regions. In the old days Zidanice were used to store wine and as a place where vineyard master could host his closest friends. Today they are available for you to experience the Slovenian countryside. Every vineyard cottage has to have a wine cellar and cottage Janko & Metka is no different. All guests receive the keys of the cellar and can taste our local wines during their stay. We greet every guest with our own wine, local meat products and other home-made specialities. The welcome of local delicacies on your arrival is included.

Vineyard Cottage Janko & Metka is located on quiet and peaceful vineyard hill above Otočec. Cottage is surrounded by vineyards and other vineyard cottages with a marvellous view on surrounding hills and Krka river valley. Dolenjska region is characterised by hills, scattered vineyards, numerous vineyard cottages, castles and churches, the Krka River, rich archaeological sites, quality thermal spas and the special wine Cviček.
