Little Okavango camp is a small intimate lodge near the western gate of Serengeti National Park, Currently with just four rooms, the bird window restaurant, and its maze of waterways connecting it to Lake Victoria. It is regularly visited by hippos and elephants, but is made particularly special by its amazing bird life. An incredible diversity of birds can be seen without leaving your room or the restaurant. Rare and endemic species such as the Usambiro barbet, mix with a stunning array of kingfishers, flycatchers, weavers and much more. Hamerkops currently nest above the rooms, and the whole place crackles into life for many months of the year with the frenetic efforts of a massive weaver colony, battling for space immediately above the rooms.
Uniquely situated on its own private waterways, connecting to the Lake Victoria shoreline, Little Okavango sits right on the edge of Serengeti National Park, in an area of world class bird watching, elephants and hippos. It offers safaris by 4*4, canoe, powered boat and on foot. It is perfectly placed to explore the game rich, visitor shy, Western Corridor of Serengeti, and unique boat safaris, by paddle through its own private waterways, or with an engine across Speke Bay and the greater shoreline of Lake Victoria.
