All the staff at 278 work together as a team to make sure that our guests feel welcome and comfortable from the moment they arrive. We share a love of Clarens and the surrounding area and hope to pass it on to our guests so that they love it as much as we do!

Property information

278 on Main Accommodation is located about 50m from the Village Square, on the tarred road within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Each room has it's own unique decor and bathroom en suite, all have King size beds or may be changed into 2 single beds. All rooms have bar fridges, and kettles. Tea coffee and fresh milk are provided. Our accommodation comprises of: • A unit that with two separate bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, a sitting area between them as well as a fully equipped kitchen (large fridge)and a dining area. This unit leads onto a courtyard with table chairs and an umbrella and braai, should you wish to enjoy evening drinks all together or to braai. • A separate double room with en-suite bathroom which opens onto the same courtyard • 3 spacious double rooms upstairs, all with bathrooms en-suite. .

Neighbourhood information

Clarens is a pretty village with gorgeous mountain views from almost everywhere. 278 on Main is about 15 minutes away from the Golden Gate Nature reserve which is famous for bright orange sunsets on the sandstone. There are many hiking trails and easy walks in Clarens, along the river or around the dam, where the water is clear and you may swim. Quad biking, mountain bikes for hire, river rafting, and horse riding is available in or around Clarens. We have a Golf course, Hot air ballooning and Game drives on offer and Picnic hampers can be arranged. In the Village within walking distance from 278 on Main, we have our own Brewery and Gin Bar where we make local Craft Beers and Gins and our own Coffee Roastery. You can browse in many different shops, stop at coffee shops, a pub, Art Galleries and Delis. On weekends you can usually enjoy live music at one or two of the restaurants in the village and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
