We were curious about the vegetarian food that was offered in this place, and it was a nice pleasant surprise. The rooms were big, compared to other places where we stayed in Japan, and they had heaters available, to cope with the cold. This place was right on the main street of the town, so its location is very convenient to get around town.

Excellent place to stay on the Kumano Kodo trail. Close to the bus stop. The host is very friendly. They offer excellent food. Our room was Japanese style. Very clean, comfortable and beautiful. I highly recommend this place.

Truly an experience I’ll never forget. The Monks are all so kind and welcoming. There ceremonies, the food, the history and culture. You feel part of the family and that feeling will stay forever. The entire experience from train to cable rail car, is all part of an experience that is priceless. Nearby sites and the town itself on Mt. Koya are unbelievable.

Subaru Hall je 40 km daleko. the guesthouse is located in a beautiful and peaceful town in the woods far from the city bustle. the facilities are tastefully decorated with a retro style, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean with a modern toilet. the best part about my stay was definitely the kindness and friendliness of the hosts. they provide a free shuttle service from the nearest train station and on the way to the guesthouse they were kind enough to show me around the area and explain how life works in an authentic japanese village. during the following days they went above and beyond and offered to give me a tour of an ancient town as well as nearby shrines, temples, ryokan and sakura in bloom. I loved both the tour as there were no tourists around and I could see the most authentic side of japan, and I appreciated the enriching conversations we had. on top of all that, akemi’s cooking is simply delicious. I really felt at home and I would definitely recommend to spend at least a couple of nights in the area. I hope I’ll come back soon!

Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The decor and lighting was really cool, and it was very helpful to have so much space and laundry machines inside the room. The onigiri and vegan ice cream cone were also really good!
