The building has been newly renovated, so our 4 nights there were extremely enjoyable. The rooms are well equipped with everything we needed to make breakfast and coffee every morning. The other guests are quiet and respectful. Also, the view of the harbor from our room was amazing! A great grocery store (The Hill) and good bars/restaurants are within walking distance. We had a car, and the car park was easy to access ($40/day for parking). I would definitely stay here again.

Museum of Old and New Art - MONA

The MONA might just be the most eccentric museum in the world. Jutting out on the Derwent River, it contains three labyrinthine underground levels, all packed with some of the most bizarre, impressive artworks from ancient to modern times. Baulking at tradition at every turn, the museum feels like a subversive adult playground.

Art galleries are not my thing, but I visited out of curiosity. I didn’t enjoy the art (it’s in the eye of the beholder, right?) but not to say it wouldn’t appeal to others. The architecture was spectacular and the ease of travelling to and from it on the ferry was the best part of the trip for me.

It's a great spot like the art.

It's a great spot like the art. There's plenty to see and keep you amused. Loved the engineering of the place. It was well worth the stop and more are being built now. Tip: leave a long time to visit there are heaps to see. The Wheelchair access was fantastic a few things are very sensory, and also some are hard to see from a wheelchair. Tip 2 bring a second camera or have the O app on some other device it is a nightmare using both on one thing.

If you are really interested in art this is a great museum.

If you are really interested in art this is a great museum. If you are not so interested it still is good to visit but I think there are some aspects of the museum that should not be open for children to see. It certainly is a different museum with every sort of weird and amazing art. The staff are excellent, they are extremely helpful. The ap for your phone is great also to help you know everything you are looking at.

A MUST SEE! If you're in Hobart, visiting the Mona Museum is an absolute must. Even if you're not particularly into art, you'll still thoroughly enjoy your time there. The level of creativity in the art on display is beyond imagination

Words are totally inadequate to describe this experience. A MUST SEE folly of immense proportions full of interesting, challenging, stimulating 'art' and museum pieces. Best undertaken in 2 half days - otherwise your head just might explode.
