I was shocked how amazing the place was !! the road to get there was so beautiful. My family wasn’t used to driving on bumpy areas but the scenery was so amazing. We were sad our stay was so short , will definitely stay longer next time.

I would highly recommend a longer stay at the country house Sygun Fawr. It is nestled in the foothills of the mountain and provides stunning views over the Glaslyn valley. There is no substitute to waking up to such a view, or having a quiet drink late at night on the patio and seeing the golden sunlight move down the mountain. The managers instantly made us feel at home and went out of their way to help us as we toured Snowdonia, providing hot tips and sound advice. The food was fantastic, both the breakfasts and the dinners! You must try the banana bread at breakfast; it is delicious and is served up with honey gotten from their own hives. The dinners were provided by the expert hands of Paul and Kathy; just a day gone I already miss their cooking! The country house is perfectly situated and even for our longer excursions it took no more than an hour to get to either Conwy, Caernarfon or Harlech, or any of the trailheads.

    great location, loved drinking morning coffee on the outside decking overlooking the harbour, taking in the view of the sea and mountains. Really handy having reserved parking right outside. Comfy beds, good Wifi, good shower, near both sea and shops. booked as close to Portmeirion but also visited Harlech and Caernarvon castles and Chester zoo.

    Firstly, the staff. They were absolutely first-class! from booking-in at reception to the porters, waiters, chefs, security, cafe and shop staff, they were magnificent! Secondly, the location is magical and to see Portmeirion lit up at night, is breathtaking. The food in the Castell Deudraeth and Hotel Portmeirion was wonderful and I would, without any hesitation, recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

    Lovely room in the Portmeirion hotel- a very clean, comfortable and spacious twin room. Shower was lovely and the bathroom itself was very nice and spacious. Booked dinner and the dining experience was a bit more elegant than we are used to, however the gourmet food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were wonderful in the restaurant and across the site generally. It really was a magical experience wandering round The Village after hours and early morning.

    Very good standard of accommodation (a Cabana) set in a stunning location, just a few miles from Porthmadog & Portmeirion. The Cabana had very good kitchenette facilities & an outdoor area, excellent WiFi connection, and easy access to parking. Ideal, competitively priced, location for exploring Gwynedd.

    Breakfast at Portmeirion Hotel - best I've ever had. Lunch also amazing. Staff - throughout - exceptional. Suite in village - just gorgeous. Loved being transported by buggy. Pool - amazing. Grounds - immaculate. Views - stunning. For the price you pay, I was hoping for immense - and I got it. Well done!

    The Hotel Portmeirion was beautiful- location amazing! Staff outstanding! Breakfast was a tantalising taste sensation- just brilliant- the selection of food available was amazing. Service first class! All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional. The location of the hotel was beautiful.

    Everything, it was a lovely setting, amazing to be able to explore the village after hours. Had amazing meals at Castell Deudraeth and breakfast at the Hotel Portmeirion was amazing. All staff were so lovely and helpful.

    It was a pleasure to stay at the Royal Sportsman. I have stayed before and always given favourable reviews. I was particularly pleased with the help I had in 2021 when I had a health issue and the reception staff were very helpful. There is a very nice atmosphere and the interior of the hotel is nice. Ditto my room, ditto breakfast. My very solid recommendation if you stay in Porthmadog, this hotel. The best local attraction is Portmeirion of Prisoner fame. Best restaurant, the Glaslyn Tandoori. Great walking around Beddgelert.

    Fantastic countryside hotel and excellent restaurant. Staff were very accommodating throughout, including with later checkout as I had to work, and TV comes installed with Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer etc. Good wifi. Large bedroom and bathroom with a double shower. Car parking on site and very close to both Portmeirion and Porthmadog by car. Fantastic breakfast.
