A fantastic hotel experience. I booked this for us as part of a trip showing my family from overseas the UK. We came here after 2 days in London and it was the perfect way to decompress and relax after a hectic time in the busy capital. When we arrived the scenery was breath-taking and walking through the main lounge with the real fireplace and comfortable, stylish furnishings we knew we made the right choice for a hotel. The rooms we booked were lovely and clean, our room had a beautiful view and the comfiest hotel bed we have slept in. The staff were friendly and approachable, they managed to provide a high end hotel experience without us feeling we were out of place with their friendly attitude. One of the waiting staff even offered to take a group photo of us when she saw my Grandfather attempting to take one which was lovely. The 3 course evening meal was fantastic and well presented and the bar had some lovely drinks options which were added to by the charming pub a 5 minute walk away in the nearby village. We all had a lovely time and I had to drag my husband away so we could check out and explore the Lakes! We are already planning to return and bring my in-laws with us. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far, huge thanks to all involved.

Had a fabulous stay. The host, Ann, was personable and Patrick and Rosalinda were attentive and entertaining. Many thanks to the chef. Food cooked to perfection. The drying room was an added bonus and well appreciated after wet days. Rooms were very comfortable. Parking was free. Warm and cosy atmosphere in relaxing areas. Beautiful walks to do around the area with creeks and paddocks. It was our favourite place after three weeks of travelling in the uk. Thanks again

The location was ideal. We travelled for my 50th to climb Scafell Pike. There is a pub/restaurant right next door. The setting was beautiful. Facilities ideal for our family. Communication from the owner was 10/10 from start to finish.

Well equipped and clean apartment. Recently renovated. Great location in beautiful Eskdale Valley. Pub staff are friendly and pub good value food if you don't want to cook. Selection of local beers, pool table, games, and big TV in pub. Fabulous location for visiting waterfalls, Hardknott Roman Fort, Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, or a long but scenic walk up to Scafell Pike.

We had a great stay at Forest How. The location was ideally suited for walking Scafell Pike. The owners were super friendly and we really appreciated their understanding of the traffic which meant we arrived late. They were also very friendly with our dog. Breakfast was lovely and it's wonderful watching the wildlife in the garden while you eat in the conservatory. The view from our room was also excellent.

Brilliant location in the heart of the Lake District, 35 min drive from Scafell Pike car park. My room was immaculately clean, with huge bathroom. My dog was welcomed to the hotel. The dining room had amazing facilities so I could cook my meals the way I do it at home. It’s also spacious and very clean. I so much enjoyed staying in this place, thanks a lot to the owners for offering such great facilities! I’ll definitely return again!
