I would strongly recommend not doing the standard trip that...
I would strongly recommend not doing the standard trip that will put you there with gazillion people and your pictures will have hundreds of photo-bombers. Stay at Salisbury at one of their hotels, then book an early morning taxi before sunset (we stayed at Amesbury.. while that is closer to Stonehenge, it was not wise as the taxis come in from Salisbury anyway). Taxi dropped us at a road behind Stonehenge, and there was an open gate with a path right by the official roped off path. This way, we could see the Stonehenge from fairly close, not touch it though (which is fine!), with absolutely nobody else in sight, and see sunrise.
