The hotel is very central so we are close to basically everything: St Stephens shopping centre, park, good coffee places. I was expecting it to be noisy but not at all. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in a studio apartment where kitchenette facilities were brilliant and saved me a lot from eating out. Room was extremely clean and I LIKED that it didn't have daily housekeeping and we could simply request this as needed. The staff were at the ready all the time to assist with anything (including daily service if you wish for it). Location is on the 'quiet' side of Temple Bar district, so easy access to all sites (everything <15 mins walk) but it was cosy and quiet for sleeping.

We visited Christchurch on a combined ticket with Dublinia.

We visited Christchurch on a combined ticket with Dublinia. It was 15 for Dublinia and only 8 euro for Christchurch but it was the latter which impressed us the most. The audio-guide was full of interesting information divided into three different categories (we listened to all of them). You can tell that whoever wrote the script of the visit, really loved that place and exposed most of its character. Obviously the (really huge) crypt was the highlight of the visit, the Stuart kings statues and accidentally mummified cat and rat making the real impression. Great place, even though I’m not Christian and really not into Christian temples.

If you are able attend a Sunday Choral Eucharist.

If you are able attend a Sunday Choral Eucharist. The congregation is most welcoming. The liturgy (order of the worship service) is explained for those who are unfamiliar. The printed bulletin explains everything else and helps everyone follow what is happening. There is no need to be self-conscious if the liturgy is new to you or if Christian worship is new to you. A highlight for anyone would be the exceptional cathedral choir and organist: because there is so much music throughout the liturgy it is like attending a concert and in fact most people stayed after the end just to hear the organ, offering a great applause at the end.
