It was really a good experience and pleasent stay. Rooms are new and clean and well furnished. Batroom was big enough and clean. Location is good enough and you are in a walking distance from the Taj. So far, it was the best hotel to stay in India for the money I paid.

Ekaa Villa was a fantastic place to stay in Agra. Great value for money, the room and bed were super comfortable and the hotel is tastefully furnished with hand picked decor and special touches. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Sahil, who was in contact via WhatsApp organising pick ups, etc and provided some great suggestions for the next stop on our trip - Jaipur. Ekaa provided very helpful pre trip information after we had booked and we used them to organise a transfer from Agra to Jaipur and then on to Delhi. This came through at a very reasonable price and the driver was excellent. After a long day of travel and sightseeing we had the dinner special in the restaurant downstairs which was delicious and provided a taste of several local specialities. Would definitely recommend Ekaa to anyone looking for a place to stay in Agra!

    What is there for me to write about Taj - sung by poets over...

    What is there for me to write about Taj - sung by poets over centuries, reasearched by Historians and No.1 tourism site in India. I do have some tips - (1) Do not miss Taj at Night during Full moon (only 3-4 days around full moon time this is permitted to limited no of pre-booked visitors. The annual calendar & permit days are available in ASI website. Also, plan to visit during non-foggy months for one too see TAJ in its full glory. As no photograhphy is allowed, it has to be stored in memory and recalled for life; it is worth it and seen to be believed / experienced. (2) Visit TAJ at least 4 times - early morning at Sunrise; Sunset; normal daylight; and, Moonlight. (3) Stay as close as possible to the TAJ for easy & quick reach.

    Get there early in morning at opening before sunrise. Avoid locals who say they are not guides but work there and try to speed you around and take photos for you with your camera, They are a Pain and demand a payment/tip for taking mediocre if not poor photos and will spoil your enjoyment of the place. Similarly you really want to experience the whole atmosphere and ambience of this place so paying a guide to “rush” you round is not a great move.

    I strongly suggest to wake up very early and to go there at opening time (just before sunrise) so that the temperature is good, it is not crowded and the colors of the sky make this monument even more fascinating. There's not too much to say about the Taj Mahal, one of the 7 wonders of the world. I think it should be seen in person at least once in a lifetime. Inside it is nothing special and there are fake guides that tell you some information for money

    close your eyes and block your nose until you are inside the walls of the taj mahal as the outer areas are filthy dirty with dirty monkeys and unkept people everywhere, it's filthy dirty ,it is shameful in this day and age. it is such a shame as the taj mahal is one if the seven wonders of the world

    Go early!

    Go early! I arrived at 5am to queue, I was pretty much the first person in there when it opened at 5.30 it was amazing and beautiful and peaceful. By 6.30am it was already getting crowded and by 8 it was very very busy. I was so glad I listened to my hotel and went early.

    Book your ticket online a day prior and take a morning slot. It gets very crowded and hot later in the day. It is usually open on all days except Fridays. Also, if your dates coincide within 2 days of the full moon, you can make a special booking to view the Taj Mahal in the moonlight. But this booking has to be done a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

    At this price there is nowhere better hotel near the Taj Mahal, if you want a better quality hotel you have to pay at least twice as much and there is no real 4 star hotel in the area You have three breakfasts to choose from: American, Continental, and Indian. I recommend the Indian. 200 m to the Taj Mahal, you can enter there 50 minutes before sunrise.

    I stayed in Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, and the hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only small disappointment was that I couldn’t enjoy the rooftop view of the Taj Mahal, as it was closed during the festive period in India. A bit of a shame, but not a big deal! The staff kindly recommended some great nearby restaurants where I could still admire the Taj from a terrace. I highly recommend this place, both for its perfect location and the wonderful hospitality.

    We loved everything in this hotel. The staff was very professional, the room with view on the Taj Mahal was perfect, the swimming pool was nice, the food very good with a lot of choices at breakfast and at the buffet. We even had indian traditional dances on the rooftop of the bar, next to the swimming pool every day around 6pm. The rest of the hotel was super clean, functional and you can really enjoy your time at this hotel. So we highly recommend it!

    This is a lovely well-located hotel that is about 20 mins walk from the Taj Mahal. While it does not have the same impressive public areas and leisure facilities as the Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi, the staff have the same high level of training and this was evident in the lady who checked us in, Catherine, who provided us drinks and a relaxing place to sit during checking then showed us to our rooms and refused a tip - which was a first in India. Overall, a well-located and good value hotel for visiting the Taj Mahal.

    The Orchid Retreat was the perfect place to be after the long ride from Delhi. Pleasently different from the usual westernized hotels, I found myself in a welcoming home, taken care by the familiar but always professional staff. Vikrant in particular was an incredible host, he game all the essential recommendations and advises to enjoy my stay in Agra and in India in general. The food was genuine and delicious as well. The location is perfect to reach the Taj Mahal by walk. I would never stop recommending the Orchid Retreat.

    Beautiful structure, I think it is the best where I have been in India. Very comfortable room, clean and with hot water, hotel furnished with style, super friendly staff and excellent cuisine. We were able to check in in the middle of the night and they even waited for us with the kitchen open. The view of the Taj Mahal is magnificent
