This is an absolute gem of a small hotel. The hotel is amazing, the staff is extremely helpfull and like family. They will do anything to help you and are so warm and sweet. I am deeply impressed!! Never in my 25 years of traveling the world have I tried anything like this. I have been to so many 5 stars hotels, that doesn't even come close to the service provided by the staff here. The hotel and room are brand new and very nice designed. The pool has a spectacular view of the valley. The area is full of some of the best wineyards and is around 1000 meters above sea level. This gives fresh air and cooling wind that is quite refreshing in the hot summer. The temperature is about 3-4 degrees (C) lower here than that on the valley and beaches. The manager Mr. Sorbello and receptionist Annalisa made us fell like royalty and family at the same time. They set a new very very high standart for the staff of my upcomming travels. The place and the staff was so amazing that during my round trip I actually cancelled a two day stay at the vest of the island, just to return and spend two more days at Santoro. This place gets the very highest recommendations from me and my wife.

    I made straight for the Rifugio Sapienza hotel there right...

    I made straight for the Rifugio Sapienza hotel there right next to the Cable car to Mount Etna. I was glad I did it, avoided an early morning drive up. But the hotel was not a place to get some sleep... Was a pretty LOUD and full of mountain bikers who stayed up late and got up early and were LOUD! :)

    The apartment was really comfortable with a cool retro 60s Italian style. It is very close to all the restaurants, so in a very convenient location and perfect for visiting Etna. The owner was very helpful and even gave me a lift up to Etna, which was very kind as I hadn't hired a car.

    Excellent location on Mt Etna right in the lava field. We were given a money-off voucher for the nearby Rifugio Sapienza restaurant for an evening meal, which was walking distance from the hotel (at the bottom of the cable car up Etna). Very good selection for breakfast. Used the spa - sauna, steam room and jacuzzi (which we had to pay for as we had booked via Booking.com, no charge if booked direct!)

    We had a fantastic stay at Gio's beautiful apartment and had the honour of being his 100th guests! The place exceeded our expectations. It was spotless clean and everything was well taken care of. Even the fridge was full of food! The location is lovely, very close the high street and a perfect spot if you want to drive to Etna. Thank you Gio for making our stay so memorable!

    Of all the apartments I encountered on my travels in Italy, this one was by far the best, well cleaned and most comfortable one. I felt instantly at home. The location is very nice and close to the etna. On top of this, the host was extremely friendly and spoke pretty fluent English. Would go there again anytime.
