Beautiful road running through the centre of Oslo, with shops at one end (near the centre) and many bars hotels and restaurants - in addition to the shops - at the other (near to the Palace and Nattionaltheatret station) . The hotel could not have been easier to find. Exiting the central railway station via Karl Johans Gate exit, the hotel can be clearly seen across the road diagonally to the left. The building ran the depth of a city block, and the Princens Gate side was one block from Karl Johans Gate - the most desired location in Oslo. Landlord was great. When I asked him for a coffee pot he delivered it that day. The loft bedroom was exceptionally inviting... we hated getting up. One of the best breakfasts on our trip although the breakfast room gets very busy so best to eat early if you can. Good sized clean room with comfortable beds, kettle and fridge.
