A good price for what you get. Washrooms are nice and clean. Everyone hangs out in the main shared area (restaurant area) and plays guitar and plays cards in the evening (but not too late, quiet hours are respected). During the rainy season, you can swim in the pools of the waterfall that is literally one second away from the lodge.

We found LOBLUS by chance and it was wonderful. The place is very cosy, the rooms very clean, good value for money, but the most important and the most remarkable is DILAH. She is the nicest, kindest and most dedicated person we have met in Indonesia. If you have a couple of days or more, she will make your experience as rewarding as possible. She will get you all the food and fruit you want for breakfast, and even if you want to see crocodiles, she will wait with you for 3 or 4 hours until they show up! Hahaha I would definitely recommend her a million times. If you want to do a tour in Sumatra, I recommend you to talk to her and spend at least one day there. She deserves everything and more. We stayed here for one night before our jungle trek. We booked our Medan airport to Bukit Lawang transport and the jungle trek with them. From the time of booking till we left the place; Brian and his team were extremely helpful. Sarah cooked delicious dinner for the night. The place is value for money and they even provide good breakfast. Our tour guide for the forest trek was Rosyid & his assistant Theo. They were absolutely amazing and the best throughout. I could complete my trek on the last day because of their motivation throughout. We can't recommend them enough. The food that they served during trek was also really good. Rosyid and Theo went out of their way to help a random guy during the trek who was unwell and made sure to give him the medicines and took extremely good care of him till he got better and help arrived. It didn't matter to him if the guy was part of our group or no and that shows how professional and caring they are. Magic tricks by Rosyid at the campsite was very entertaining. There was also Manto who cooked extremely delicious dinner and breakfast for us and helped with the river tubing. Would definitely recommend staying at Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey Guesthouse in Bukit Lawang.

It is all about location, location, location. The view is exceptional. Room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Nice bed. Robert was a great host and super helpful. The homestay is still relatively new, but he's been in the area for years and knows it very well. Took a one day tour with him and a few other guests. It was fantastic. Things, culture, people, and places I never would have found otherwise. Wish I could have stayed longer.

My stay was excellent, and I also booked the jungle trek with them. It was absolutely amazing, and it was their own business. So it was a small group. Ricky and Anto were great with taking care of us. You should really try this activity! It’s very very worth it, and rest assured you are in good hands.
