Of course, the Guesthouse is not comparable to a 3Stars hotel but when you come to this kind of place, Ciza e Rose is exactly the kind of Guesthouse you expect! Rose was born here, he is the right man at the right place and his family is very nice. Rose can speak many languages, including french. The rooms are simple but have all you need. They are big, quiet and all around a patio. Board games are available and we could play Awale and learn a new way to play with Michael, the son. The breakfast was really good and a bit different each day, with cakes... We got a lot of explanations from Rose, who is also a guide if you need. Communication was really easy with them, even before arriving. A "collectivos" picked us up at the airport and Rose organized another one to drop us to Sao Filipe. We eat at the Guesthouse in the evenings. At midday, we went several times to Isabel Restaurant ( actually Isabel is Rose's sister but we didn't know it the first time!). By the way, Rose has 6 brothers/sisters at Portela.

TCHAN LOVe se nachází v destinaci Portela a má restauraci, dětský klub, bar, zahradu, terasu, dětské hřiště a výhled na město. This is a very nice place to stay for couple nights. Quiet, comfortable. Breakfast was included and I have asked for it at 6am, so the Lady just left it from the evening (coffee in a termopot). Also you can ask for a dinner, which is really good, super tasty (Ive got a fish with rice and veggies for 900 escudo). And also you can ask for some wine (industrial or craft homemade, about 200 per glass). The place has not many reviews but it's seems super new, means you will have also super new bathroom which is nice bonus for staying. As for the transfer: you can book the place in Alluger with the room booking. The way from Sao Filipi is 50-60 mins and costs 1000 escudo. As for the trekking: 1. The location is the best, right next to the start of few trekking routes 2. You can ask the owner for a guide, just ask for someone local who is actually based here in Caldeiras and not in Sao Filipe. As for the Pico Grande you will definitely need a guide because it's super tricky route. For the Pico Grande the usual price is 6000 per person but it's could be a discount if you are in group 3. Also you can walk by yourself (without guide) for couple places: e.g Pico Pequeno (it's now that far) and also you can walk to the Forest Monte Velha (about 5 kms till the entrance to the Forest) or even to Mosteiros (about 16 kms in total, 10 kms at the normal road and 6 kms are a bit difficult, inside the forest - not the easiest trail but it's possible)

Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.

Rose silva se nachází v destinaci Portela a nabízí terasu a bezplatné Wi-Fi. V ubytování Rose silva se připravuje kontinentální snídaně a vegetariánská snídaně. Great location, at the foot of the volcano and in the middle of the village. If you choose to eat there, food is really great and you are welcome at the host’s.

Casa Ze & sonia se nachází v destinaci Portela a poskytuje bezplatné Wi-Fi, neplacené soukromé parkoviště a výhled na hory. Ze and Sonia welcomed us with infinite care. The location, right in the middle of the Caldeira is ideal. Sonia is an exceptional cook!! This is a place we will not forget. 👍

Pensão Repouso Alegre Turismo e Aventura se nachází v destinaci Portela a nabízí zahradu, terasu a výhled na hory. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště. Jose was good company. Cruzeiro Guest House se nachází u moře v destinaci São Filipe a nabízí bar a bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Ubytování se nachází v budově z roku 2020. Pláž Playa Sao Filipe je 10 metrů daleko. Spacious, clean room with a sea view, you can sleep listening to the waves. The staff was very friendly and helpful, good breakfast served at the roof. Super happy with this accommodation. :)

Casa Marisa 2.0 se nachází v destinaci Portela a nabízí zahradu, terasu a bar. Na místě je k dispozici restaurace s jídly africké kuchyně a také neplacené soukromé parkoviště. Staying at Casa Marisia was honestly the best choice I could have made for my days on Fogo Island. Everything was so well taken care of — from arranging my transport to organizing a guide for the volcano hike, they made everything easy and stress-free. The staff are just the sweetest people, always kind and welcoming, and they really made me feel at home. And the food… wow, absolutely delicious, every meal was a highlight. If you’re reading this, don’t think twice — book a room at Casa Marisia, you definitely won’t regret it.

COSEC Tours se nachází v destinaci Cova Figueira a nabízí venkovní bazén, sdílený lounge, bar a bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. The location is good, at the edge of a peaceful and friendly village means no noises at night. Also not far from Fogo viewpoint (20min drive). Bus station 30sec walking, supermarket and restaurant 10sec as both are available directly in / at the house. The owner is super friendly and is easily available via booking or WhatsApp. The room is big, with a big comfy bed and enough plugs to charge your stuff. There is a small balcony, and the bathroom has a good shower with hot water. Everything is clean and the WiFi works great. Secured parking is also available. There is a nice terrace with a pool and great views. I really liked my stay here and can totally recommend this place.

OpenSky se nachází v destinaci São Filipe a poskytuje terasu, bar a ubytování s bezplatným Wi-Fi a výhledem na město. Tento bed and breakfast s klimatizací nabízí balkon. Stayed one night and very pleased. I did the walk from the airport and yes about 20 minutes flat. The room was clean and the A/C worked well. Great location, right near the square. I really liked the spacious balcony. Breakfast provided and on the more basic side but still fine to start the day.
