Positive aspects to consider: The Booking.com images match reality: the rooms are new, with new furniture, spacious layout, very comfortable king-size beds, and large pillows. Everything is brand new, from the wardrobes to the bathroom. New Carrier air conditioning units, a large refrigerator, TV, LED lights, wardrobe, and a bathroom with a shower cabin or bathtub. Hot water has normal pressure but is very comfortable for showering. Excellent soundproofing from the street—it doesn’t feel like you’re in the city center. The hotel’s location is excellent: city center, within walking distance of Tahrir Square. The area is safe, with a police station on the back street. In front of the hotel is MISR Bank with a 24-hour ATM that always works. Don’t be fooled by the building’s old exterior—the interior is renovated, and improvements are still ongoing. The WiFi works very well (VDSL technology, typical Cairo speeds). Multiple hotel routers ensure a stable, uninterrupted connection. The breakfast is delicious and authentically Egyptian: coffee, milk, fruit, bread, jam, butter, "La Vache Qui Rit" cheese, etc. Breakfast is served on a terrace next to reception, overlooking a busy street with two benches. Strongly advise against renting a car—don’t even think about it! Uber is the smartest, most practical, and affordable option. We used it dozens of times flawlessly. The STAFF is fantastic!!! JOUSEF, ABDALLA, ERINY—all young, tourism-trained, friendly, and attentive. They communicate via WhatsApp, always smile, and promptly fulfill requests. We requested a room change due to a shower leak, and they moved us immediately.

Boasting a garden, terrace and views of pool, Villa Layla is situated in Cairo, 1.9 km from Mosque of Ibn Tulun. Please book this place ASAP! As a solo female traveler, I was kind of scared of staying in a hostel in Cairo, but this place changed my whole stay experience. From the moment I arrived, they greeted me very well and were super super friendly! The place is AMANZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. It even has a terrace with a pool area. This place literally made everything so much better, and is very well located. Everything is very clean and everyone is very nice. I felt very safe in there. It’s obvious how much effort the owner put into this home, he even sat down with me and gave me suggestions on what places to go as a solo female in Cairo and how to dress. They have a beautiful little cat named layla too! As a latina im always kind of concerned of leaving my things out without me being there. But I can definitely say that I felt VERY secure with all of my things there, because I felt very safe with the workers and also with the other tourists. Please don’t think it to much! This place is the BEST. Im so thankful I booked it. They also have a permanent coffee/tea station, and filtered water. This place changed my perspective on hostels. LOVED IT!

I still can’t believe I woke up, pulled back the curtains, and saw the Great Pyramids right there in front of me. Watching the sunrise with a coffee in hand, and later the glow of the sunset over the desert, felt like something out of a dream. Pictures don’t do it justice—you just have to be here to believe it. I especially loved spending time on the roof terrace—the views from up there are absolutely breathtaking. Sitting with a drink in the evening, gazing at the pyramids as the sky changed colors, was one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments I’ll never forget. The family room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Better than many 5 stars rooms we have seen in Egypt. If you’re planning a trip to Cairo or Giza, do yourself a favor and stay here at least once. It’s not just a hotel stay—it’s an experience you’ll carry with you forever.

Heaven Hostel is located in Cairo, within less than 1 km of Tahrir Square and a 17-minute walk of The Egyptian Museum. Perfect stay, we got a whole studio. The hostel is at 11th floor, with a great view. We also had a jacuzzi with a view.
