- From £104.84 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 261 reviewsThis is the best hotel we have been to in Argentina, the place is just wonderful and the employees are very nice! The location is beautiful, surrounded by vineyards, the hotel's architecture is stunning (it looks like a Spanish "masia" or a countryside house in Italy's Tuscany). When we arrived they gave us a room in the first floor and asked for a room in the floor above to have better views, they did all they could to change our room free of charge. They also offered a free wine-tasting, so we had the chance to try all of their wines with some cheese platters (white, red, rose, from the cheaper end to the very expensive end) with a professional sommelier. The hotel offers some activities (we did a horseback-riding excursion). In the evening the garden and the terrace are full of people enjoying some nice wine, the atmosphere is really magical. A lot of people ignore the area of Cafayate (and head to Mendoza instead), that is a big mistake, not only do I think that Cafayate wine is nicer but the area is beautiful. I strongly recommend staying here!Guest review byCarlaSpain
- From £132.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,252 reviewsWow, what a place! Surrounded by vineyards. Our room was huge and beautiful. King size bed and 6 plush pillows…we had our best night sleep on our entire trip. Customer service was first-class (complimentary wine on check-in, bags carried for you, and they made us a surprise cake for my girlfriends birthday). Amenities were all fantastic (pools, spa, steam room and sauna).Guest review byDarcyAustralia

A beautiful city, with multiple attractions and nice colonial architecture. Most important, it is the place from where you can visit other places, like Cachi, Cafayate, "Salinas grandes", Purmamarca, etc.Guest review byRamiroSpain - 10.0

Don't miss this town on your Argentine visit. We enjoyed amazing wines, delicious foods and absolutely the most beautiful landscapes. This is not a one day trip. Come for several days, there is so much to see and do here.Guest review byVALERIArgentina - 10.0
Cachi is a wonderful little town in a complete colonial...
Cachi is a wonderful little town in a complete colonial style situated at 2500 meters altitude. This helps with the temperature, which is around 25 degrees while it’s 30+ in Cafayate. Around the large square with tall, shady trees, there are several restaurants. All Argentine towns have such a large square, green and with shady trees. The squares, which are always called 9th of July Square or another famous date, attract both tourists and locals, and especially in the evening, there is a rich social life with music and performances. As always, people sit and drink mate tea from characteristic cups with built-in straws. If you want to go hiking from a very basic town then it’s great. I guess. But if you want anything else out of the town forget it. Zero. 58 km of dirt road each direction is not remotely worth the view. There are amazing views all over Argentina, if the town even had one interesting aspect fine but it doesn’t. Most people we saw there were sitting waiting for the next bus out. Nothing to do if you don’t hike. Sorry IRUYA, the rest of Argentina is amazing, you’re very ordinary by comparison.Guest review bypeterUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Planning my trip to North Argentina, I have booked 2 days at San Antonio de Los Cobres. Fortunatelly, I have had some reviews about the town before going there and changed my plans to only one day. It was the best thing I could have done. San Antonio de Los Cobres is windy, poor, dirty and cold. It has not has any of the charm from the little pueblos up north or anything amazing to see.Guest review bySTEFANOBrazil - 10.0
The free walking tour was excellent. The museum was great.
The free walking tour was excellent. The museum was great. The church is beautiful and wonderful. The changing of the guard on Saturday is a must see and enjoy in the plaza. Hotel we stay at was top notch. Home made Empanadas across from Catholic Church we tastiest. The excursion to cafyette in mountain is a mustGuest review byKaren BozoceaCanada - 10.0
Our visit to Cafayete was incredible.
Our visit to Cafayete was incredible. The Domos del Viento were an experience in themselves with spectacular vistas, beautiful clear blue skies by days, sunsets over the mountain scapes, and brilliant starlit nights uncluttered by city lights. The Quilmes ruins are meticulously preserved and maintained, and the visitor centre displays function in Spanish, English and other languages. Various wineries have tastings, restaurants and accommodations up and down the valley (if you can’t get a reservation at the Domos). The food in local restaurants varies from simple to sophisticated but always featuring local cuisine and ingredients. The people are welcoming and helpful. And I suppose I should mention that the local Cafayete wines are excellent by the glass and even better by the bottle.Guest review byDavidBrazil - 10.0
We stayed 2 nights and it was just right.
We stayed 2 nights and it was just right. I regret the museum was not open when we were there. A recent storm had knocked out the internet in the whole town and only one restaurant had it working. The main square is a charming oasis of green in the white-washed town that is clean and inviting.Guest review byPatriciaUnited States - 8.0
The people of Salta were very nice.
The people of Salta were very nice. The plazas were very lively and fun to be around. And there were 2 nice rests/bar areas that I frequented. I also liked the all day Cafayate tour. Extremely beautiful.Guest review byRaffaelloUnited States - 10.0

It's a cute little town with many interesting shops, museum, restaurants and wineries. It has the first wine ice cream boutique in the world. The main square and downtown are easily walkable, but to get to some of the better wineries and goat cheese factory etc you need transportation. Our hotel provided bicycles.Guest review byLouise BUnited States
