Very service minded staff - from front desk to hospitality - super friendly and super helpful. It’s a fantastic location on the Wolfgangsee lake with direct access to the lake - swimming and water sports activities, and the town centre itself is just a one minute walk . The view from our room was exactly as advertised - exceptional and great attention to detail to the needs of the guests in the room . Very good breakfast which is open until noon .

Wonderful place. Nice and friendly staff. The location and the restaurant itself deserve special attention, the food is very tasty, the views are beautiful. They not only charge money for staying with dogs, but also provide a special kit for dogs. The bathroom has fragrant bath amenities. I liked everything! The location is amazing, secluded and calm but also has everything you need like food at the restaurant or 5 minutes away by car at any supermarket. I would definitely come again. Friends' groups, however, shall watch out for the showering situation 😂 it is more like a romantic getaway 😉 but I still had lots of fun with my friend there. Ah the Seilbahn is 5 minutes away aaand Hallstaat is about an hour, although I don't recommend leaving the heaven of this place and going to the touristic horror of Hallstaat.

    Difficult to say what we liked the most because we loved it all. The size, quality of the room. Fancy decoration, good coffee and quality furniture in the room. The private balcony with the fantastic view, The nice and helpfull manager and staff, the quality of the breakfast and the other food and wine, the clean and peaceful garden with quality furniture, bath and sauna possibilities alone with full access to the lake.     Beautiful place in a perfect location, our vacation was like a dream. we ordered the room named "Atelier" it's a huge room with a panoramic view to the lake.. The room was very clean, the kitchen was very big and functional.with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sauna room, all open to the dreamy view of the lake and the mountains, the service was beautiful inviting and very personal. they have a lovely pizza bar with extraordinary pizza.. highly highly recommended!!!

    A more beautiful peaceful vacation could not be imagined. The mountains are breathtaking. The quietness speaks to you, and I left feeling more peaceful than I have in years. We were there in May, and I understand the tourist scene in June and July is a bit busier. There is a lot to do in the village besides gazing at the scenery. Delicious eats, friendly hosts, charming souvenir shops and the ferry that goes up and down the St Wolfgangsee are some of the delights.

    We stayed in Abersee close to the port (Gschwendt). This area is generally quiet particularly at night as it is sparsely populated, with pastures, farms, and indeed guesthouses. There is a public beach excellent for swimming (with paid access, but included in some accommodation; it is grass, pebbles, wooden walkway and stairs to get to water more comfortably). One can also walk along the lake, cycle, or walk further for hiking in the hills. For shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, one needs to take a short drive to St. Gilgen or Strobl.

    I love this little town.

    I love this little town. It is a great location for exploring other areas, but the town itself is beautiful. We got to see them raise the May Pole and have a bit of a festival with dancing, music, and great food and drinks!

    Excellent , a walk by the lake and a splendid dinner at Carl-Zone can really make your day. You can enhance your trip by hopping on to any of the boats and visit near by places be it St Gilgen etc , There is boat running between Strobl , St Gilgen and other small villages located by the lake (Wolfgansee) , hope to get the name right

    The timing of our visit (January 7th to 12th) wasn't ideal, as many shops and restaurants were closed during this period. However, for nature enthusiasts Sankt Gilgen was a dream come true! The snow-covered Apls created a magical winter wonderland, offering breathtaking views and landscapes. We had easy access to nearby attractions that are definitely worth exploring, making it a fantastic destination for those who appreciate tranquility and the beauty of nature.

    My daughter wanted to stay in a small Pension like we used to stay in when we lived in Austria. None of us were disappointed. It was everything that we wanted, with a lovely breakfast and friendly owners.

    Lovely old city center with decorated buildings, promenade on a lake shore, travel on a ship on a lake, possibility to sunbath and swim in clear blue water, mountain trails, cable car and old trains to summit.

    Strobl is perfect, everything you need is there -- shops, restaurants, bakery, tobacco shop, post, banks, gas station,... Very good starting point, we went both sides of the lake by bikes, used the ferry, as well as the beach there.
