We got upgraded to a very big room with a big balcony. Everything was so cute in this hotel - the lobby, common area, great colour palette and interior design. You can also feel the history in the building. Great view of the lake. Full breakfast included with lots of options for bread, snacks, cheese, etc. very friendly staff. You'll feel like living in a dream. Great for the value during off season and Peter hotel was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Generous room size, comfortable bed, lounge area with sofa, lounge chair & coffee table and great bathroom. Excellent breakfast - good choice and the ability to order eggs anyway you like. Beautiful gardens right down to the lake where there are 2 jetties and access for swimming. Lovely saunas - Finnish & Bio, and a steam room. Wellness centre if you want to book a massage. Short stroll to ferries - lovely way to see the area and and visit other towns - Sankt Wolfgang and Sankt Gilgen - both busier than Strobl but access for hiking via cog railway or cable car.

    Big, comfortable room with good beds. A nice little lounge area in every room. Spotless, clean and quiet. The hotel was extremely dog friendly, the dog was allowed in the restaurant, and in the bar. Delicious breakfast with a good selection of options. Fresh products. The staff was super friendly and helpful, probably the nicest part of the stay. Everybody was pleasant and smiling. Location was unbeatable, right by the lake and the ferry dock. Good parking in the front of the hotel + a private parking spaces a little farther. We were lucky enough to be able to use the spot in the front, which may not be possible during the high season. Restaurant was very good, nice local food and delicious drinks.

    Beautiful location, with a fabulous view from the balcony! Lovely sunbathing and swimming area, with bar and snacks in good weather. Very friendly and helpful staff. Although not high-end fittings, it was full of charm and was a lovely place to be. There was an honesty bar for when the lakeside bar was closed, so you could have a relaxing drink on the balcony. A good continental breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Would definitely recommend and would happily return.

    The hotel is great, it has a nice garden, nice terrace, plenty of space and even a playground for kids. The inside is cosy and family oriented, very well thought, lot's of details taken into account so that the guest feels welcomed and even pampered. The room was spacious, clean, very nice and cosy, comfortable bed. Generally quite place and a nice atmosphere. Great breakfast and very nice staff! I will definitely come back here!

    The location of the hotel is excellent (easy accessible by a car) in the center of the city. Parking just in front of the hotel, main promenade is 5 minutes from the hotel (same when you want to get the train to Schafberg). You can directly from the hotel take a tour around the lake.

    A more beautiful peaceful vacation could not be imagined. The mountains are breathtaking. The quietness speaks to you, and I left feeling more peaceful than I have in years. We were there in May, and I understand the tourist scene in June and July is a bit busier. There is a lot to do in the village besides gazing at the scenery. Delicious eats, friendly hosts, charming souvenir shops and the ferry that goes up and down the St Wolfgangsee are some of the delights.

    Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming. City itself is much calmer than the other ones (St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang), but still there is everything what would you need, water fun, grocery store, ice cream stand.

    A perfect holiday location. The village has lots of character, a weekly market, cable car, mountain walks, swimming in very clear lake, and relyable bus service to wider surroundings and beautiful baroque city of Salzburg.

    We stayed in Abersee close to the port (Gschwendt).

    We stayed in Abersee close to the port (Gschwendt). This area is generally quiet particularly at night as it is sparsely populated, with pastures, farms, and indeed guesthouses. There is a public beach excellent for swimming (with paid access, but included in some accommodation; it is grass, pebbles, wooden walkway and stairs to get to water more comfortably). One can also walk along the lake, cycle, or walk further for hiking in the hills. For shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, one needs to take a short drive to St. Gilgen or Strobl.

    I love this little town.

    I love this little town. It is a great location for exploring other areas, but the town itself is beautiful. We got to see them raise the May Pole and have a bit of a festival with dancing, music, and great food and drinks!

    It is a really nice little lake town, well located to nice hikes and great restaurant options. Cleanest alpine lake I have seen and such lovely small town vibe. we loved it even more that Halstatt, St Wolfgang, Kaprun and Zell am see!

    The timing of our visit (January 7th to 12th) wasn't ideal, as many shops and restaurants were closed during this period. However, for nature enthusiasts Sankt Gilgen was a dream come true! The snow-covered Apls created a magical winter wonderland, offering breathtaking views and landscapes. We had easy access to nearby attractions that are definitely worth exploring, making it a fantastic destination for those who appreciate tranquility and the beauty of nature.

    Lovely old city center with decorated buildings, promenade on a lake shore, travel on a ship on a lake, possibility to sunbath and swim in clear blue water, mountain trails, cable car and old trains to summit.

    Excellent , a walk by the lake and a splendid dinner at Carl-Zone can really make your day. You can enhance your trip by hopping on to any of the boats and visit near by places be it St Gilgen etc , There is boat running between Strobl , St Gilgen and other small villages located by the lake (Wolfgansee) , hope to get the name right
