- From £203.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 478 reviewsWe loved it! Karijini Eco Retreat is an amazing place to stay. We booked the luxury tent and it was worth it. It was really hot and to have an AC on your tent it’s life changing. All the common areas were great and the staff was really thoughtful - our experience at the Eco Retreat wouldn’t be so good if it wasn’t for Shell and Clodagh, who were nothing but nice and so kind to us, and provided us a lot of advices regarding places to visit and the wild life. About the heat: it’s not great when the temperatures hit 45 degrees, but if you get up early (4:30/5:00) you can enjoy the hole morning (until 1pm) and you have the gorges all to yourself. It’s very peaceful and quiet.Guest review byJonnyStarPortugal

There are so many amenities, there was even a table for laptop and writing! The garden is just awesome and well maintained. We loved the trees, flowers, birds, butterflies and we even spotted a possum! There is also a pool and a café! We are so happy we booked Best Western Ranger. A big thank you to the friendly Manager and Assistant Manager and their team! Outstanding!Guest review byRolfSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 5 reviewsThe location is amazing. The island and the surrounding reef systems and fishing opportunities are second to none. Travelled for a fishing trip and came away with plenty of fillets and some amazing game fishing.Guest review byBrendanAustralia
- From £87.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 170 reviewsThe property fully met my expectations from the description and price. I award 10 on that basis. This is not a luxury hotel, nearby is a higher grade hotel at double the price. The staff were first rate.Guest review bysdcityIreland

Relaxed and Friendly Town
Relaxed and Friendly Town Karratha is a great place to visit. The locals are friendly and welcoming. The town has everything you need, with shops, cafes and services close by. It’s clean, easy to get around and has a relaxed pace. The surrounding landscapes are unique and worth exploring. Good value overall for a regional stay. Tips for New Visitors: Book accommodation early, especially during peak work seasons. Bring sun protection. The weather is hot and dry most of the year. Hire a car if you want to explore nearby spots like Dampier or Karijini. Visit local cafes early. Some close by mid-afternoon. Check opening hours for shops and services. They can vary. Talk to locals. They often have the best advice on where to go.Guest review byDexterH71Australia - 8.0
For a first time visitor, Port Hedland was interesting.
For a first time visitor, Port Hedland was interesting. There is nothing much to do (other than walk around the jetty area). The sunset was beautiful, the long walk ways on the beach front was a great way to enjoy the town. Of course you could join tours to go on the water or to the Salt Lake etc.Guest review byAmyAustralia - 10.0
The museum was excellent, the boardwalk was good.
The museum was excellent, the boardwalk was good. I liked the location with the beach nearby, I liked the information on the boardwalk. The road to thr old town was very touch and the signs weren’t accurateGuest review byYvonneAustralia - 4.0

The staff were unfriendly they just don’t have any people skills. The bathroom had a constant cigarette smoke smell, The rail fell of the wall to hang stuff on. The sliding door didn’t lock so they just put a hook latch on it.Guest review byKarlAustralia - 8.0

An outback town, that has all the amenities very well maintained, It has numerous delis, a supermarket, public pool, post office, parks, gym, hospital restaurant, tavern/bar a sports oval, golf club etc. Perfect location to do day trips to nearby attractions. Tourist park has various levels of affordable , decent accomodation. Ensure you book ahead as the units can book out due to local accomodation shortages.Guest review byAdamNew Zealand - 10.0
I am biased I grew up in Dampier.
I am biased I grew up in Dampier. There is no longer a big supermarket in Dampier so if you need supplies you will have to go to Karratha for them. I would recommend going to the visitors centre to check places of interest. Must go to Point Samson for fresh fish and chips. Cossack is a must see Sunday mornings if you like markets. Local artists have art must see. If you have a boat and love fishing there are plenty of islands to explore. I know first hand there are fantastic reefs to explore if you enjoy scuba diving. Hearses Cove is picturesque on high tide and on low tide great walk, be mindful though tides can be fast moving, Watch were you walk on low tides though stoner's have deadly spikes, and don't touch octopus with blue rings they can kill they are small but dangerous.Guest review byDeborahAustralia - 8.0

There are many walks and places to drive to, but be prepared for dust. Also sun hats and carry plenty of water The restaurant serves tasty meals and buffet breakfast. Be prepared for the temperature which can change from very hot in the day to very cold at night.Guest review byMargaretAustralia - 10.0
Point Samson ticked all the boxes for a beach holiday away...
Point Samson ticked all the boxes for a beach holiday away from crowds. Simplicity, relaxation and peace. There’s just enough points of local interest to keep you occupied for a few days, plus time to just swim and relax in a hotel pool or take a sunset stroll on the beach. The Point Samson tavern serves a decent meal and has beach views. There are a few other towns within easy driving distance where you can also get a good meal or buy groceries for self catering.Guest review byRebeccaAustralia - 10.0

Fascinating port, really something to see so many freighters...
Fascinating port, really something to see so many freighters being loaded with iron ore. The port has great capacity and there was a lot of small boat activity as well. We had a picnic in the waterside park and could have stayed all day! Red dirt in the air and everywhere was a bit of a negative 👎Guest review byLindaAustralia
