During my recent stay at the Home Boutique Hotel in Azerbaijan, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional warmth and hospitality of the staff. Every interaction was marked by genuine care and attentiveness, making me feel truly welcomed and valued as a guest. The culinary experience at the hotel was another highlight. We had a night flight, we arrived at the hotel early in the morning. After a short wait the room was available and we could also have breakfast. On the second evening, there was fruit waiting for us in the room. There was a kettle for making coffee/tea in the room. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel wifi worked very well.

    The breakfast is buffet style (huge variety) and the wonderful chef made sure we were happy and satisfied! She even gave us fruit in the swimming area after breakfast hours. Upon our arrival we asked if we could get a room upgrade and we were surprised we got better than what we were hoping for. About the beach – exceeded expectations: I struggled to figure out the situation of their private beach on the website, but once I got there I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice, clean and swimmable private beach area with umbrellas, chairs and showers. Our stay felt like being surrounded by a local, caring family rather than a hotel! They went above and beyond to satisfy all of our requests, they even gave us a power strip so we could charge all of our things.

    A very safe and clean place to visit. Not many tourists here, so not overcrowded. You can walk around by yourself safely. Very interesting city, especially Old Town. Lot of history. People welcoming and friendly. A very walkable city.

    The city is calm, beautiful, and peaceful, offering plenty of places for photography and relaxation. It is definitely worth visiting. Negative: Unfortunately, there is a noticeable issue with tourist exploitation. Some locals make remarks in their language assuming visitors do not understand. This is especially evident with taxis, Bolt rides, and in shops around the city center. If prices are not clearly displayed, it is advisable not to purchase.

    A very pleasant surprise!

    A very pleasant surprise! Half the price of London - a meal for two with a bottle of wine averaged £30. I'd recommend Borani and Dorma - both in Fountain Square - tasty food and extremely friendly. In August, the temperature is around 38 degrees but there is a cool breeze which took the edge off - most inside places are air-conditioned. Definitely download the Bolt app (Uber) - taxis are extremely cheap and handy to get around. We went to Shikh Beach which was 5 miles out and it only cost £3.50! It's a 6 hour flight from London and Azerbaijan Airlines were awesome - I'd definitely recommend this as an affordable and enjoyable destination!
