- From £79.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,160 reviewsThis place was fanastic and worth going to Copacabana just to stay here. Beautiful, original, artsy room - the listing's photos capture it quite well. Everything seemed rather new and was well kept and clean. Very big bedroom with kitchenette, lounging area, huge and comfortable bed; outside area with tables, sun chairs and hammocks with great view of the city; and an equally gorgeous unique bathroom and shower. Couple blocks (uphill) from the bus station and the port area so very easy to move around on foot. Stay at least two nights to fully enjoy!Guest review byelenaItaly
- From £26.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 73 reviewsColibri is a great place to relax after spending some days in La Paz city. However in case one still wants to go to the city from colibri, it is possible with collectivos or taxi. The vibe at colibri is great, the location and the views are amazing. The breakfast served is a 10/10, every day you get great break, scrumbled eggs, cereals, coffee, or tea and fruit juice. The staff slightly variates the breakfast from day to day (different juice, extra cheese or avocado) which is great if you stay longer than a night :)Guest review byShairGermany
- From £127.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 514 reviewsVery nice clean, spacious rooms with good shower and warm water. Nice selection for breakfast and restaurant in house very good. The pool is amazing and just what you want to have on days where everything else is closed (christmas). What made our stay was Stephanie who waited on us hand and foot always warm and calm even she was working day and night. Thank you Atix and Stephanie!Guest review bySindriSweden
- From £45.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 190 reviewsLovely room. Lovely staff. We arrived very early in the morning and the receptionist kindly arranged for our room to be cleaned first so we could check in early. After a sleepless night on a bus, this was very welcome as we fully expected to have to wait until 2pm to use the room. They were also helpful booking taxis for us.Guest review byTweedUnited Kingdom

- From £149.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 273 reviewsThis hotel was absolutely fantastic, the facilities are great and it's super comfortable which was important as we were coming into La Paz from sea level so the altitude had quite a large impact. All the staff were brilliant but Luisa in particular was fantastic. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again.Guest review bySAMUELAustralia

We felt safe to walk during the day and night.
We felt safe to walk during the day and night. Food, clothing and haircuts are cheap. Most people are helpful and very friendly. La Paz has a few world records: highest capital city (so ensure you have Diamox to reduce altitude sickness symptoms) and the largest cable car network in the world (well worth the 12 BOB for 2 hours use as we covered 6 different routes.Guest review byMichaelW62Australia - 10.0

Copacabana surprised us, but was a fantastic place to visit and at no time did we feel unsafe or threatened. The people are very very friendly and really try hard to communicate with you when English is not their language (in a lot of ways). Has a holiday atmosphere without losing its Bolivian roots and religious leanings. A great place to visit and soak in.Guest review byCraigAustralia - 8.0
We liked that you can walk to all attractions.
We liked that you can walk to all attractions. You can see films from some of them if you go to youtube and the channel for Karlmark International and the playlist for Bolivia. The ascents are at times very tiring, so it's good to walk slowly. Watch out for the old couples that sometimes try to get extra fees from you when you are on the trails. They are modern day robbers, but just don't give them anything, or see it as a tip for nothing. Both the long (over the hill) and the short (along the coast) hike to Challapampa are nice. You can easily reach the temple of the sun from a little above the harbour in Yumani.Guest review byMikaelkkSweden - 8.0
We didnt have long in La Paz.
We didnt have long in La Paz. We went on a walking tour on the first day, but didn't particularly enjoy it. I think we started too early and a lot of things were not fully open. The cable cars were great though. We enjoyed these more, and it gave us amazing views of the city. We really loved the Valley of the Moon also. We went to the women wrestling show, which was lots of fun. The death road cycle was a challenge, but it was an amazing trip.Guest review byYvonneNew Zealand - 6.0

The main reason we went to Copacabana was to visit the Isla del Sol. Its a great day hike destination with beautiful views, Inca ruins and a chance to hike an Inca road. However, the restaurants, food stores and beach in Copacabana are mediocre.Guest review byStuartUnited States - 10.0
The island is steep.
The island is steep. Once you leave Yumani port you are climbing uphill at altitude. Initially the Escalera del Inca is picturesque but will stretch your lungs. After that there is more uphill. The walking surfaces are rough and uneven, if walking at night bring a torch. The views are fantastic! The best place to catch sunset and sunrise views is probably the highest part of Yumani village. From there going uphill to Mirador Palla Khalsa gives great 360 degree views.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 8.0
People are very friendly in La Paz.
People are very friendly in La Paz. The Mi Teleferico is such an amazing local commuting transportation easing the traffic congestion for its residents. The system is so efficient and I found it a very unique experience with applause. The Mirador Killi Killi viewing point is just spectacular too. My friend and I even took the local bus at one point and all the local people are very warm .Guest review byAnna Man YingHong Kong - 10.0

The town is a good stop between La Paz and Peru but is nice enough itself with good access to walks and Isla del Sol etc. Really worth visiting the various Inca sites in town and around, including Inca Baths just outside, with its little museum and mummified body. If you stay on Isla del Sol beware the slope up from Yumani harbour to the town, it is almost vertical.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Wonderful getaway!
Wonderful getaway! The island has no cars, but lots of donkeys and llamas. We were able to find a couple good places to have dinner and watch the sunset. We also were able to explore the island, walk to the ruins and the viewpoints and just relax. While walking up the first set of stairs, I took off my sling bag to take a couple layers off - the sun was out and I was overheating. I forgot my sling there and noticed that it was missing about 10 minutes later. I re-traced my steps and couldn't find it, so I chatted with a couple of the locals and showed them a picture of what it looked like. Within 10 minutes of chatting with the locals, my sling was located and I was able to pick it up a little further up the trail. I thought that experience spoke well of the locals and what they are trying to promote - an enjoyable, safe, relaxing experience. We will come back to the Isla del Sol on our next visit to La Paz.Guest review byWADEUnited States
