Bed and linen were super comfortable. Shower pressure was great. The view from the room was perfect to see Band Camarote during Carnival. It may have a nicer view without the Carnival's Camarote structure. Hotel restaurant is a bit expensive, but the food is good. Room service was quite fast and could adapt food allergies. Gym was well equipped - I managed to work out there every morning. It is a great place to stay before the official Carnival week. Amazing architecture, well described and educational museums, very nice polite people, pretty decent food and drink. You need about 4 days overall, to get to know the city, and possibly go back to the places you liked best (if that's your thing when you travel - it is for me). However, the religious thing does get a bit tiring, as does the noise level. Best part of town by a long stretch was Santo Antonio depois do Carmo, which is beyond the Pelourinho.
