- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 28 reviewsWe were looking for a convenient stopover close to Maun but outside of town, and Tshima Bush Camp, located about 30 minutes toward Ghanzi, suited us perfectly. We stayed in Tent No. 4, which was both practical and comfortable, furnished with beautiful, handcrafted pieces made by the owner, Russell. A real highlight was the bathroom—with its half-wall of netting, we could enjoy the sunrise right from the shower, which was a lovely way to start the day. Although we hadn’t originally planned to have dinner at the camp, we’re so glad we decided to. Russell and Verena are warm, attentive hosts who prepared an outstanding meal. Every detail—from the homemade mayonnaise served with fresh chips to the perfectly cooked steak and béarnaise sauce—was thoughtful and delicious. The breakfast basket the next morning was a delightful surprise and much appreciated. It’s clear how much care and attention Russell and Verena put into their owner-run camp. Their personal touch was felt throughout our stay. Thank you both for your kind hospitality.Guest review byliseSouth Africa

And also a brief explanation about construction work in the river. The river was dry for at least one more week. People have to hurry up to get construction things finished in timeGuest review bySijandaNetherlands

We did not stay for long, but for stocking up the twon a good amount of shops and chain stores you may also know from South Africa. Unfortunately, the croc farms seems to have closed down, the local game park was closed for rehabilitation, and the museum was closed for the weekend.Guest review byBuk - 4.0

Comfortable cabins with nice location and great potential if you want to be out of Maun but need to make sure if food is available and to pay on arrival to avoid problems with payment as staff not present on site earlyGuest review byJessicaSouth Africa - 6.0

We were disappointed, we were under the impression that we could drive around in the area and on the premises, but you have to book for game drives. The water hole is on the side for the tented camp visitors, the people camping does not really have access. The camping is a good stop over for one night, but a longer stay will is not recommended.Guest review byHengeleneSouth Africa - 8.0

For tourists going into the delta I recommend at least a day in Maun to check out the local sights and meet some of the locals. Botswana and Maun in particular see tourists come in and go straight out to the delta, so no added benefit to the residents just a constant flow of people leaving nothing of benefit to the local community Stop over in a local hotel, there are plenty to suit every ones finances, interact with the local community there is lots to do and seeGuest review byAnonymous - 2.0

When you see distance to town center for hotels in Maun, don't be deceived like I was. Town center is a ratty 4 way stop, nothing you want to be too close to. There are a few places in Maun that may be OK but you have to do your research and they are spread out.Guest review bybschranzUnited States
