- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 921 reviewsLoved loved the location! Beautiful views from the room and porch. Loved that you included a free kayak rental which I took advantage of for over an hour on a clear calm morning. I kayaked all over the lake. Food in the restaurant was outstanding. I had the B.C. imported sable fish and my husband had the duck. Both were amazing. Our server was very friendly and gave us excellent service. She brought the chef out to meet us and we praised his culinary skills. He told us he had recently returned from working in Denmark at a two star Michelin restaurant. I would eat at his restaurant again and again! We hope to return to the resort with our kids and grandkids some time. I would definitely recommend this lodge to everyone wanting to take advantage of privacy in a tourist town. Perfect time to visit seemed to be at end of summer season, as crowds were minimal and fall colors were gorgeous! Hike to the top of the mountain in back was challenging but well worth it when we got to the top overlooking the town and surrounding lakes and mountains.Guest review byBrianUnited States
- From £335.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 3,150 reviewsThe place was awesome. You can see the scenic mountain just in front of the hotel. The room has complete appliances and utensils. A shuttle was provided also which is very convenient for the guests going to the downtown. And lastly, the place is a pick up and drop off location of the Brewster Bus from and going to the airport and Downtown Calgary.Guest review byAbuemePhilippines
- From £554.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,029 reviewsThe alliances and cleanliness of the apartment is so amazing. And the room is big enough for a couple to stay comfortable for almost a week. Within 10 minutes walk, there are supermarkets, sports stores , fine restaurants . Really convenient! The only pity is that the high rating bagel store nearby is so popular and we always missed.Guest review bySIQIChina
- From £445.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,168 reviewsIt was the best hotel we experienced in the Banff. We have booked twice the room during our stay. It's a quiet place located in the park, near the railway. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, the (gas) fireplace and the chalet-style room. Rooms were very clean. Attention to details : fresh coffee offered for the morning, nice decoration...Guest review byChristianFrance

We stayed in one of the "lodges" and was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. It had a chalet type feel and the full kitchen was perfect for the stay we were looking for. The location was also great and easy to get around town.Guest review byScottCanada

Banff is an interesting town to visit in the summer, with a quaint, slightly western, ski-town vibe. We were there for two days at the end of August, along with many other people! Picked our historic hotel, Mount Royal, based on location. Lots of quirky souvenir shops line the totally walkable streets as well as great restaurants. Quite a few nice places to just sit, relax, and grab a craft beer, and there's even a rooftop bar! Try the pizza at Three Bears Brewery on Bear St--it's to die for!! Coffee houses and tea shops are in the area too. Loved the free transportation to the scenic Gondola up Sulphur Mtn--a must do! You'll need a ticket as it gets quite crowded. Once at the top, take the deck walk all the way up (376 steps but they're spread out, plus have areas for scenic photos and/or to catch your breath). You'll be rewarded with great views of the Cascade mountain range with the town of Banff below. We had a champagne toast to our anniversary at the Skydeck Bistro for lunch (be sure to reserve as it is quite busy). Once back in town you can bus it to visit the stately, castle-like Banff Springs Fairmont Hotel located just outside of town, for a drink on the scenic patio of the Rundle Bar. Many steak/bison restaurants (Chuck's, Grizzly) are within walking distance in town, but we opted for a short taxi ride to have a mountain view sunset dinner at the Juniper Hotel Bistro's patio. Our last morning before heading out we grabbed some homemade granola and scones, with freshly brewed coffee, at the Wild Flour Bakery, open at 7am. We left Banff mid-morning and took the scenic route to Lake Louise for even more beautiful scenery and hiking. Highly recommend visiting Banff/Lake Louise area in the summer. It is a breathtakingly beautiful area!Guest review byJamieUnited States - 10.0

Jasper is a great place to visit with lots of activities in around the town. Whilst it was badly affected by the wildfire in 2024 and you obviously still see the effects of this around the area, the town is very much open as are most tourist attractions and we should all support them.Guest review byCraigUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I paid nearly $800 per night expecting a quiet, nature-focused stay, as advertised on the hotel’s website. Instead, I was first given a noisy room, and then moved to another that smelled strongly of bleach and had a broken window. Despite my allergy, no alternative room was offered. The bleach fumes caused severe headaches that required painkillers, and by the second day, ants had entered the room. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing and far from worth the price.Guest review byMaryamUnited Kingdom - 2.0

It was awful from start to finish way over charged it was worth more like 50$ a night than the 440$ a night I was charged- the room was old ,outdated , wifi only work when it felt like ( not often) the beds were so lumpy old mattress that my back was sore for days after their was dirt under the bed some previous renter had left their old cereal bits under the bed visible if the cleaning staff had bothered to look under the bed the very old shower leaked all over the floor the restaurant was lousy the food mediocre at best there is no reason to ever stay at this hotel it is a dumpGuest review byBeatrice - 10.0
What can I say except for WOW!
What can I say except for WOW! My husband and I were there in Sept/Oct and everywhere we turned was another magnificent view of a mountain, glacier, canyon, lake. We rented bikes and rode to Vermillion Lakes and beyond. We hiked up Johnston Canyon, we took easy and more challenging walks, and met people from around the world. We flew into Calgary, drove to Banff, then to Castle Junction and stayed in two places I would recommend - Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungaloos and Castle Mountain Chalets. We had a great trip!Guest review byChinelli - 10.0

There are many other location in the Rocky Mountains nicer than Banff. The three days we stayed there it was crowded of people, very far what we expected in the mountains. All the attractions were crowded, in special the hot tubs. After seen the small pools crowded we refused to go into. Besides, the restaurants have crazy prices. Banff was the worst experience in our 3 weeks in Canada. Of course, we loved the environment, the glaziers, the trip from Jasper to Banff, but we recommend to sleep in Jasper or other locations instead of Banff.Guest review byMarioSpain
