- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 53 reviewsWe chose the hotel because it was pet friendly. We like to travel with our dog and being able to have him stay with us was great. The staff at the Village Inn were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. We loved the location. We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast which was included. We went to a local restaurant Jack’s (within walking distance) because we could bring our dog with us (outside patio). Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.Guest review byNenaCanada

I grew up in Cobourg and loved it.
I grew up in Cobourg and loved it. Left to join the Army in 1978 and finally made it back to stroll down King Street and walk the beach again. Fabulous what the Marina has done for the place. It is still the great place I remember. MGuest review byMichaelCanada - 10.0

Port Hope is a beautiful quaint little Town and people are very friendly and they have a beautiful Park right downtown with a clean washroom. Plus on Thursday they have some kind of shows in the Park and Saturdays there is a wonderful Farmers Market.Guest review byGloriaCanada - 10.0

Brighton is a small, pleasant community of friendly, helpful residents. We were delighted observing the unique character of the down town buildings and the pride of ownership which is evident wherever you go. The employees at the Sobeys grocery store went over and above to assist us in even the small things which added to our overall very pleasant stay here. The marina restaurant's staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Due to covid restrictions we were directed to a picnic bench at the waters edge to enjoy our meal where we were thrilled to be accompanied by a family of swans. It is a place we will definitely visit again!Guest review bySeanCanada - 8.0
Fenelon Falls was GREAT!
Fenelon Falls was GREAT! Loved the area, grabbed an ice coffee everyday that we were there from the Waterbridge Chocolate Cafe by the canal. Loved the downtown, swimming at Cameron Lake was super, our granddaughter loved collecting the shells from the water. We enjoyed watching the lift bridge release boats and especially the huge tour ship that had to pass through! Fun shopping in the downtown core, we got some great finds and deals! Cannot really say that we came across something we did not like because it was quite a positive trip and not too far from home for us, just 3 hours! Enjoy Fenelon Falls if you venture to it!Guest review byM & R - 8.0

Small town on Trent-Severn Canal, with interesting lock in the centre of town. Many small shops if that appeals to you! Several restaurants, but little overnight accommodation. We enjoyed eating outdoors at Just for the Halibut. Boyd Museum and Saturday Farmers Market are local attractions. Kawartha Dairy outlet is a popular spot for young and old. Interesting to watch the boats and to see the ospreys nesting near by.Guest review byHelenCanada - 10.0
The Kawartha Lakes is a tourist area.
The Kawartha Lakes is a tourist area. If you own a yacht, motor boat, canoe, or bicycle, there are plenty of opportunities to get out in nature. The towns of Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn have plenty of places to eat and shop. Both are walkable and, in season, bustling. The folks you encounter on the street and in the commercial venues are friendly and helpful. If you wanted to get away from it all and put your feet up, this region provides the environment. In fact, this is cottage country and folks from the city like to escape to the relaxed pace and quiet. This review was written in July. I cannot hold forth on the Kawarthas when the snow falls.Guest review byG. DouglasCanada - 8.0

Good experience visiting sites including Trent University where our daughter graduated from. The weather was cold and windy so we did NOT get to the zoo. Down town is clean and there are good eateries.Guest review byHowardCanada - 10.0

I liked that there are a lot of restaurants and patios and a lot of clothing shops and decor shops .I ate at The El ,The Buttermilk Cafe and Cucina Urbana .if you just want something light or for later you can grab a sandwich to go at the Millstone Bread Bakery right near the hotel .I also found a local historic Pub Kelly's Lite a block from the hotel .They have bands and singers on Friday and Saturday nights .They also serve breakfast and lunch .I visited Victoria Hall They have a small Art Gallery there .There are nice clothing stores ,decor stores and my favorite were the many Chrystal and Tarot shops .Cobourg was a friendly place to visit as a solo person .Easy to get around .It is walkable to everything .Guest review byLynnCanada
