- From £389 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,840 reviewsI can’t believe the experience we got for the price. This hotel is an absolute gem hidden away at the top of the mountain. It’s so cosy and the views of the snow falling on the mountains from the outdoor hot pool are stunning. The pool is so close to the rooms you can have a dip and a sauna and throw your towel around you and run back to your fire, and it’s open until 10pm. When we arrived they gave us bus passes for our whole stay to get up and back (5mins) to town as much as we wanted so we never had to worry about finding parking or having a designated driver. They give you as much fire wood as you like for no charge so you can have a fire every night. There’s free wifi, 24hr laundry and a book swap and a small kitchenette if you want to cook for yourself. Yes the rooms are pretty basic there’s everything you need and the overall experience is so worth it that everyone we met seemed to be returning customers. Cannot recommend enough!Guest review byAislingIreland

The place was great, room was amazing, food was excellent and above all the staff was nice and very helpfull. We were looking for a extraordinary experiance since we dont usually go to such fancy hotels but is was more than worth the money. We would like to note the concierge r.j who helped upgrade our vacation with pinpoint recomendations that we enjoyed a lot. Indeed a bit expencive but for us it was more then worth it.Guest review byshaharIsrael
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 2,149 reviewsEverything was great. We got a wonderful room with a nice view to ser one of the beautiful mountains. It was very clean and comfortable. After a couples of hours after we had checked out I received a mail that I forgotten a pair of pants and a shirt in wardrobe. Catherine arranged everything with USP so I will get my cloths in Vancouver, before I am leaving for Europe. Catherine, once again, thank for all your help!Guest review byLennartSweden

Banff is an interesting town to visit in the summer, with a quaint, slightly western, ski-town vibe. We were there for two days at the end of August, along with many other people! Picked our historic hotel, Mount Royal, based on location. Lots of quirky souvenir shops line the totally walkable streets as well as great restaurants. Quite a few nice places to just sit, relax, and grab a craft beer, and there's even a rooftop bar! Try the pizza at Three Bears Brewery on Bear St--it's to die for!! Coffee houses and tea shops are in the area too. Loved the free transportation to the scenic Gondola up Sulphur Mtn--a must do! You'll need a ticket as it gets quite crowded. Once at the top, take the deck walk all the way up (376 steps but they're spread out, plus have areas for scenic photos and/or to catch your breath). You'll be rewarded with great views of the Cascade mountain range with the town of Banff below. We had a champagne toast to our anniversary at the Skydeck Bistro for lunch (be sure to reserve as it is quite busy). Once back in town you can bus it to visit the stately, castle-like Banff Springs Fairmont Hotel located just outside of town, for a drink on the scenic patio of the Rundle Bar. Many steak/bison restaurants (Chuck's, Grizzly) are within walking distance in town, but we opted for a short taxi ride to have a mountain view sunset dinner at the Juniper Hotel Bistro's patio. Our last morning before heading out we grabbed some homemade granola and scones, with freshly brewed coffee, at the Wild Flour Bakery, open at 7am. We left Banff mid-morning and took the scenic route to Lake Louise for even more beautiful scenery and hiking. Highly recommend visiting Banff/Lake Louise area in the summer. It is a breathtakingly beautiful area!Guest review byJamieUnited States - 10.0

What can I say except for WOW!
What can I say except for WOW! My husband and I were there in Sept/Oct and everywhere we turned was another magnificent view of a mountain, glacier, canyon, lake. We rented bikes and rode to Vermillion Lakes and beyond. We hiked up Johnston Canyon, we took easy and more challenging walks, and met people from around the world. We flew into Calgary, drove to Banff, then to Castle Junction and stayed in two places I would recommend - Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungaloos and Castle Mountain Chalets. We had a great trip!Guest review byChinelli - 10.0

There are many other location in the Rocky Mountains nicer than Banff. The three days we stayed there it was crowded of people, very far what we expected in the mountains. All the attractions were crowded, in special the hot tubs. After seen the small pools crowded we refused to go into. Besides, the restaurants have crazy prices. Banff was the worst experience in our 3 weeks in Canada. Of course, we loved the environment, the glaziers, the trip from Jasper to Banff, but we recommend to sleep in Jasper or other locations instead of Banff.Guest review byMarioSpain - 10.0
Beautiful place tucked in mountain ranges.
Beautiful place tucked in mountain ranges. For nature lovers or for tourists visiting Banff National Park, Canmore is a great, quiet and scenic place to consider as home base to explore Banff or other National Parks like Yoho, Kootenay, and obviously Banff.Guest review byHeenaUnited States - 10.0
A wonderful spot for a family get-together.
A wonderful spot for a family get-together. We had 6 cabins, close to each other, very clean and big enough to be very comfortable. Kitchens had everything one could think of to prepare our meals. Lots of open space for children to run free and play safely without any worry about traffic. The Johnson Canyon hike just down the road is amazing but it is likely best not to plan to do it on a long weekend in the summer as crowded.Guest review byGailCanada - 8.0

Location was relatively close to Nakiska where we were skiing and close to Canmore if one wanted to go out to dinner or needed groceries. Lots of activities to do in the Canmore area and adjacent Banff National Park.Guest review byStuartCanada - 10.0

Beautiful location, ample choice of restaurants (including good gluten-free and vegan options), very lovely ambiance and walkability, some good sights to see in town plus access to a variety of activities. However, in high season, there are a LOT of tourists and hotel rates are high for what you get (e.g., over $500 for an older style hotel room that hasn't been updated).Guest review byJo-AnneCanada - 10.0
The town was quaint and delightful.
The town was quaint and delightful. Nice walkable small downtown. Lots of places to eat outside (we were there in summer). Lots of walking trails near and around the Bow River that runs right along Canmore. We ate at Murietta's Bar, the Table, and Das Schnitzel --- all wonderful. We hiked the Grassi Lakes Trail and did the Scenic River Nature Float --- also so good. If they can increase their parking places downtown, that would make it great.Guest review bymackbookUnited States
