- From £70.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 137 reviewsFor the price this was the best motel I ever stayed in. It had fridge and microwave. Room was cozy clean and well furnished. What else do you need if you are a traveler passing by. They had a proper restaurant with in. How cool is that? I had home made Indian food made by owner's wife at the restaurant. Awesome experience. They are lovely people as well. Highly recommended.Guest review byAbinCanada
- From £86.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 182 reviewsThe room was perfect for me and my dog. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean including the bathroom. Location was great as it only took 10 - 20 minutes to drive to where I wanted to go on that day. I was also given the option of house service on the second/third day, which was nice as I got new set of towels. 10/10, would recommend.Guest review byGinaUnited Kingdom

We did the Agawa Canyon train tour enjoyed it very much. The Miss Marie Soo lock tour is not to be missed, it is truly worth it. We also drove around to Harmony Beach, Batchawana Bay and Ojibway Park and Trail. We also drove to Manitoulin Island by car.Guest review byAnnieCanada - 6.0

Just passing through on a roundtrip, so not much to say.- nothing much going on...ran into some bizarre people. Not sure why there aren't more choices for hotels. We had a real doozy...glad we didn't have to stay a second night.Guest review byKerryCanada - 10.0

The picture shown did not accurately represent the room we were given. Our room had carpeting instead of new laminate or wood flooring as shown in the photo. Everything about the room was outdated, which was disappointing based on the price being $177 Canadian. There was a Tim Hortons very close to the hotel, thankfully, because the hotel restaurant doesn’t open until 4:00 and the coffee maker in our room didn’t work properly. There were no other options in town on the day we stayed there. The coffee wouldn’t drain from the basket. The room smelled very stale. We did enjoy sitting outside in the evening, and they had picnic tables and a couple chairs along the lake, but very rustic type stuff.Guest review byCynthia GrayUnited States - 10.0

I recently attended a weeklong "Sheep to Shawl" fiber camp, sponsored by the Elliot Lake Arts Club, and thoroughly enjoyed their fun and informative program, new facilities and classes by the lake. I highly recommend "Blossoms Cafe." The food, service, decor and price were outstanding! I also highly recommend a float plane ride of the area with Glassy Outfitters. The view above Elliot Lake is absolutely breathtaking, and our personable pilot was so skilled, I didn't even notice when we left and landed on the water! In addition, I highly recommend Pizza Hut for carryout, as the staff was very friendly and kind, and the pizza delicious.Guest review byHeidiUnited States - 6.0

I have been travelling the the Sault for years and not much has changed. The town folks are friendly but very cautious. The streets are in need of repair much like other places but may be a bit worse.Guest review byClarenceCanada - 2.0

The Lakeview Hotel was not as advertised and although we had prepaid for a double room...we did not feel comfortable staying there and went elsewhere. the reception area was cluttered and disorganized; the hall carpet was old and worn and looked dirty; there were several open doors on the floor into rooms full of junk; the parking lot was rutted and haphazard; and in general the hotel looked dingy and smelled musty. The front of the hotel was old and dirty and it looks like the picture on their website was photo-shopped. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone,Guest review byGerryCanada - 2.0

Travelled with 5 motorcycles terrified they would be damaged or stolen if we had stayed at this place. Contact person was not at location, in the apartment we were directed to go to through owner on booking.com site - Owners have refused to respond or refund. Drug addicts everywhere, later found out this apartment complex is considered the slums of blind river and very dangerous at night.Guest review byCarmenCanada - 6.0
View from room was nice, but the room was not as pictured.
View from room was nice, but the room was not as pictured. More run down than it looks. Our room had old carpet not hardwood / hardwood looking floors in the main room. We also asked for larger beds and got two tiny double beds too small to sleep together (and we’re both pretty small people). Property was dated and in need of maintenance - looked like some sloppy-ish DIY was attempted to spruce up the bathroom which was better than nothing I suppose, but there were stains on the walls, ceilings, and several cobwebs in the bathroom (more than what should have been overlooked). They painted right over rusty hinges on the doors. Other than that the room was clean. Walls were thin and noisily neighbors kept us awake. I found the bed comfortable enough (though it was squeaky), but my husband did not. The owners seemed friendly but I thought it was strange they asked us to fill out a paper form after we booked online. Thankfully overall the room was clean, and the bed was not terrible and had clean crisp white sheets and bedding and the bathroom was acceptable. Also appreciated the mini fridge in the room. It wasn’t the worst motel I have stayed in and I understand these small motels often have a hard time affording upkeep and upgrading, but the dirty walls in the bathroom and the cobwebs should have been cleaned up at a minimum. I still prefer Hilton & Holiday Inn chains for better consistency in quality and cleanliness but the timing on our road trip worked out to be between Sudbury and Sault St Marie so this looked like the best place overall. Next time I might just drive a bit further to stay in a chain. I certainly wouldn’t make this my destination.Guest review byShana - 8.0
Sault St.
Sault St. Marie is factory city and a location for access to the USA. There is not much to do there in the winter time as most of the visitor locations are closed for the season. Be ready for lots of snow at the city is on the south end of Lake Superior and the top of Lake Huron, so there is lots of bad weather in the winter.Guest review byStuart
