I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home.
I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home. It is very beautiful, however, with all the construction, long weekend traffic & Ironman rally detours unbeknownst to us tourists, plus a couple fender benders, traffic was horrific for getting around.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Beautiful, old, French-Canadian town circa 1878. Quaint, even today, with lots of beautiful, older buildings and architecture. Nice restaurants, and it's a lovely place to walk around and explore. Well worth a visit.Guest review byJimCanada - 8.0

There is a lake and some hikes around, easily accessible from Gite le Tresor Cache B&B. It is a restful place where you can also just enjoy a glass of wine on a terrace and enjoy the natural surroundings.Guest review byBakkerNetherlands - 10.0

Gatineau has a long history as the entertainment centre for dull-after-dark Ottawa. Did not fail this tme as the Duvernay is near Gatineau centre- bars and restaurants, fabulous Canadian history museum, a pleasant walk across the river to centre of Ottawa, much more reasonable accommodationGuest review byDennisCanada - 10.0

Wonderful stay, beautiful grounds, amazing lobby, many activities for family, had a great massage. Did: curling, squash, board games, snowshoeing, hike, tubing, swimming, whirlpool.. Love the dog-friendly environment, and many nice dogs in lobby. Restaurant good, but remember a fuller breakfast buffet, and also a table d'hote option for dinner, no longer offered. Try the Bistro in Montebello villate, amazing! The one that says 'pizza ou four' (wood oven pizza) in window. Older rooms are a bit tired, if you want the old charm, but I understand likely awaiting renovation. Miss the old La Seignorie bistro in the hotel, hopefully it opens again. Miss the running tube lift! Seems this activity may be on the way out?Guest review byLisaCanada - 10.0

I'm referring to Old Chelsea, as Chelsea represents a bunch of little amalgamated communities. It's a cute little town full of B&Bs, bistros and shops. I went to the Nordik Spa, which is wonderful, and I'm sure to be back. I would like to go back in the summer, when certain landmarks and trails are more accessible.Guest review byChantalCanada - 10.0

A beautiful, historic town that stands out.
A beautiful, historic town that stands out. Really worth a visit here and to explore the beauty of the town and surrounding area. Perfect place to come for a short vacation. Love the way they have information plaques displayed on the heritage houses and buildings. Makes it accommodating to walk, read, learn and appreciate the time that has gone into the historical research.Guest review byTerryCanada - 10.0

Chelsea is a charming little place with great food (definitely try the Reborto Pizza Romana) and ice-cream at La Cigale, where there is always a line up in the evenings. There is also a Protestant burial ground, a waterfall and an entrance to the Gatineau Provincial Park. It was very charming and a lovely place to go for the day.Guest review byAnonymousCanada
