FAQs about hotels in Quebec
From Polar Bears to Jazz Festivals
The predominantly French-speaking part of Canada, Quebec is a fascinating region of strong contrasts. With stunning natural wildlife and European-style cities, Quebec features over 8000 lakes, 750,000 square kilometres of forests and 4 different climatic zones.
Its largest city, Montreal, is said to be the only place in the world where the sun rises in the south, due to the unconventional compass used by the locals. Its old town, Old Montreal, with its cobblestoned streets and historic buildings, is a real jewel and a definite must-see.
Head to the region’s capital, Quebec City, to admire the majestic Chateau Frontenac. Stroll along the fortification walls around romantic Old Quebec or try one of the over 300 cheeses produced in the region.
After an intense city break, there is nothing more relaxing than the vast spaces of nature, untouched by the human hand and allowing one to spot a polar bear, a moose or even a blue whale.
So whether you’re a nature lover keen on summer and winter sports, or a culture vulture hungry for music festivals and independent cinema, you will find all that and more in Quebec. Booking.com offers over 1200 properties so you can choose between hotels, motels and cosy inns.

- From £141.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,106 reviewsWe were just passing through off the ferry and expected a Travelodge, having not used a Riotel before, but were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and the welcome, at a very good price. We were able to enjoy the sunset by a firepit on the beach with a good beer, and use the pool. In the morning we had a very good home cooked breakfast. The room itself was comfortable with good facilities. The staff were all friendly and accommodating.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom

A city full of homeless people begging for money, a few good areas here and there interspersed with many really bad ares. If you are from a nice city, you will feel like you have visited a very poor area and you will constantly be asked for change. It is dirty and not very clean. It is overall a mess and very unlike the rest of Canada. The nice part is the different restaurants but its not a classy city by any stretch of the imagination. It is extremely ghetto.Guest review byJosephCanada - 10.0
Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit.
Quebec City is one of my favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, charming and quaint. I brought my daughter and her family there for their first visit and they were delighted. They were thrilled to see where their ancestors, the Bouchards, came from around 1650. The younger ones rented bikes to tour around and we found a great gluten free bakery, Chez Hansel and Gretel. The family loved the ghost tour. I first visited Quebec City with my French students in the 1990’s and fell in love with it. I have been back 5 times now both with family and students.Guest review byLouiseUnited States - 10.0

A variety of activities were available - for all ages. I thought it was a bit of a money grab to charge people to go to what should be a public beach. There were lots of excellent restaurant choices.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Dorval Airport: Easy to navigate. Helpful staff.
Dorval Airport: Easy to navigate. Helpful staff. Clean and fresh. Cleaning staff were cleaning, not just pushing equipment around, they were busy doing their job. The bus service from the airport into the city is excellent. Other airports could benefit from a similar system.Guest review byGwendolynCanada - 10.0
You have to learn French. Seriously.
You have to learn French. Seriously. I repeat, you have to learn a lot more French than the survival French you think you are good with. They speak so fast. They understand your shitty French but you don't understand them. Townspeople are very nice people. Bring coins for bus. Transit App may not work. Cell signal is bad sometimes. Take a paper map for free at Bureau Tourisme. Taxi is shit. Read Google reviews. Uber is unavailable, the app will try to match you with a driver then tell you there is a bug or error or no driver.Guest review byChunyangCanada - 8.0

The Cape Shrine is a beautiful and tranqualizing pilgreamge place. The Le Temps D'une Pinte is a good place to finish the day with good food, good local beers, and good service. Unfortunately and fortunately, we expereinced the first snow of the year and so could not go on foot to enjoy the history of the buildings in the downtown area, but then the snow added the beauty to the city.Guest review byLOUIS YAN HINHong Kong - 8.0
Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Parking is much too expensive, but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. The whales didn't show up. For a tourist town, too many signs are French only with no English translations!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home.
I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home. It is very beautiful, however, with all the construction, long weekend traffic & Ironman rally detours unbeknownst to us tourists, plus a couple fender benders, traffic was horrific for getting around.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

This was my first stay at this hotel and I really enjoyed it! Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The staff was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. My only regret is that I only stayed for one night and didn’t book a room with a view of the river — something I’ll definitely do next time!Guest review byVioletaCanada
