We brought our bikes and cycled the Georgian Trail, an unpaved but easy ride to Thornbury and Meaford. Be sure to have ice cream in Thornbury on the main street, little yellow front. Just off First Street in Collingwood, is an amazing trail and boardwalk, we just found it by accident. But shouldn't be missed. Visited the Blue Mountain village. Very pleasant, great for families. Pretty, small, classic Ontario city with lots to see and do. Great cafes, restaurants, independent shops and cultural landmarks (don't miss Manticore Books, Mariposa Market, Gordon Lightfoot trail and the Leacock House). My visit was for attending the reception for a friend's art exhibition in Midland's Cultural Centre on King Street, which had 2 very impressive art gallery spaces.. We ate in 2 very nice restaurants - Lilly's Italian restaurant on King Street and The Boathouse patio right at the lake. The Tall Ships were in the harbour and there were a lot of family activities at the lake front. I heard that there were a number of cultural events in town. We love Bradford.
We love Bradford. It’s a nice town, friendly people, the main strip, you can find one of a kind stores, local artists and businesses,and it’s a clean town. All your needs are met in Bradford and just outside of it, you have your pick of the big box stores, if that’s your thing.
