- From £304.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 143 reviewsWow! What an Amazing stay I had! Dominique was a wonderful host! He will make sure that you are having a great time! He and his staff are Super Amazing and very friendly too! My view from my balcony was Picture Postcard Perfect! 🖼️ You see the beautiful charming village of Soglio and a spectacular panorama of snow capped mountain peaks! You hear birds singing & church bells ringing! My room and bathroom was a very good size! Enough room to move around and be comfortable! I had a tasty breakfast and a very delicious four-course dinner in the beautiful dining room! They also have a very large panoramic patio with magnificent views in all directions! There's a beautiful, but very steep and rocky hike just above the hotel! At the top you are rewarded with an amazing view of Soglio and a gorgeous green field! I was very blessed to see about 200 sheep, baby sheep and 3 sheep dogs moving across the huge field in great coordination! It looked like a scene from a scenic travel film! It's fun to explore all the old stone pathways through Soglio village! You will be taken back in time hundreds of years! I'm not sure how I will be able to top this stay! It was beyond Amazing! Thanks again Dominique and all your wonderful staff for making my visit a very memorable one! 😊Guest review byDarrenUnited States
- From £152.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 488 reviewsVery cozy hotel with extremely helpful staff. We stayed for 4 nights during Engandin Ski Marathon. It was very convinient to get to Swiss by bus (took just 1.5 hour to get to St. Moritz) - the bus stop is just several steps from the hotel door. Madesimo ski resort is just 30 minutes drive by car. Breakfast was good and there was also nice family restaurant nearby. At the day of check out as we were the only guests in the hotel we were served with excelent breakfast for two. The room was nice and clean with comfy beds.Guest review byerjikRussia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 250 reviewsEverything! The location is unbeatable, the terrace is privileged and the view breathtaking. Great to have breakfast (plenty of options) and dinner (delicious) every day. The rooms are simple, comfortable and clean. There are no additional facilities but what else do you need when you have such a beautiful place and plenty of activities all around?! The staff was welcoming, very kind and friendly. Lot of (public and paying) parking space at the entrance of the village, 100m. max. from hotel.Guest review byMM_CHSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 410 reviewsI liked this hotel very much. A piece of history. Hotel is beautiful with awsome surroundings in good location 20 minutes by car from St. Moritz and not far from Italian border. Interior is like name indicates Palace and I have only few times felt like this inside any place where I had stayed in past. I highly recomend this place. Very comfortable bed. Big room. Nice saunas.Guest review byBartlomiejPoland
- From £249.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 111 reviewsOld charming building in the middle of the ski slopes. Ideal for those who love winter sport. We had a lovely vintage (with history) room with everything we needed. Very pleasant and friendly service, good breakfast. The hotel has restaurant with good cuisine. A bit expensive, yes, but they offer a good discount if you stay 3 night at least.Guest review byKatrinEstonia

Chiavenna, nestled in the heart of the Italian Alps, is a gem of natural and cultural beauty. Its medieval old town enchants with narrow, cobblestone streets lined by historic stone buildings, exuding a timeless charm. The Mera River flows gently through, reflecting the surrounding snow-capped peaks and lush green valleys, especially breathtaking at sunrise or sunset. Waterfalls like the Acquafraggia cascade dramatically nearby, adding to the area’s wild allure. The town’s vibrant piazzas, filled with quaint cafes and local artisans, pulse with authentic Italian life. Ancient churches and palaces, like Palazzo Vertemate Franchi, showcase intricate architecture. Surrounded by hiking trails and vineyards, Chiavenna blends serene alpine scenery with rich history, creating a captivating, soul-stirring destination.Guest review byBeth EllenUnited States - 8.0

A classic hotel with history, which alone makes it worth spending the night there. In addition, in a fantastic location that in the past was only accessible to the happy few. The hotel seems to have aged a bit, but the comfortable rooms, grandeur and views make it worth a visit. an excellent place to start mountain tours or bike tours and explore the Engadin.Guest review byMarcelGermany - 10.0

Maloja is a very nice and beautiful spot near the Malojapass to Chiavenna and Italy. From Malaga, you can easily enjoy hikes, walks, especially during winter time, slopes are in walking distance, and it is very quiet if booked a room at sea sideGuest review bytravelfox31Germany - 4.0
We stayed there only for two nights.
We stayed there only for two nights. We've been skiing in Madesimo and sleeping in Chiavenna. We didn't spend a lot of time there. We went for dinner one night, Ristorante Pizzeria l'Arca - a place to recommend, however, the atmosphere in the evening was shady and most of the buildings looked abandoned.Guest review byAleksandra WeronikaPoland - 4.0
I asked for a family room for 5 nights, however.
I asked for a family room for 5 nights, however. - The room I received was not aligned at all with the pictures available in Booking for a family room: In the family room pictures, the living room was very wide and the bedroom was regular, however I got a family room with a small living room and a very big bedroom, exactly the opposite to my needs. I received the offer to change the room after one night, however, when I asked for the change, the person in reception told me that he had not been informed. - We booked a family room with 2 single beds and a double sofa-bed, however the room had 1 double bed & 1 double sofa-bed. - I booked for 4 people, however the room had only 2 bath towels and 3 blankets, I received the pending stuff in my 3rd day, only after complaining by email and in the reception several times. - Wi-Fi very poor. Summarizing, a poor experience with a very low value for money.Guest review byEmilioSwitzerland
