I was very happy with my stay at Hotel Alpina. The owner Richard was very easygoing, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was perfect, good variety, they make eggs however way you want them. The room is a good size with a comfy bed. And for my room 201 the bathroom was renovated and very nicely done. I even got a partial view of the lake from my room. The attention to detail throughout the hotel made it so funky yet so cozy. I would definitely stay there again. There’s also a beautiful pathway from the hotel that takes you directly parallel to the lake and a little waterfall

We are on our honeymoon trip, And this is our favorite hotel of the trip. The host is wonderful and helpful, we go to him Every morning to ask for advice on what we should do for today cuz he knows everything about grindelwald The breakfast is excellent , the room is cozy, The bus stop is right in front of the hotel , so it’s super convenient.     Location. It is great. I visited in beginning of October and it was easy to get there by public transport during that time (it might be different when snow covers the mountain pass). Tickets for some of the local cable cars were included and for some other ones I got a discount (I've used free cable cars only as I've stayed for one day and there was only that much I could visit). I would really encourage to walk around the lake that is down from the hotel as it is beautiful and the view from the dam is also great! Breakfast was very nice as well. One thing to keep in mind - hotel is high up (1900-2000 meters) and if you are not used to mountain hotels, you might have worse sleep quality, not because of the beds or something, but because air is thinner up there and your body need to adjust to that.

    Interlaken truly feels like a dream destination, the kind of place where every corner looks like it belongs on a postcard. My favorite spots were the panoramic views from Harder Kulm (tip: go up just before sunset for the most magical light) and the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz, which are stunning for both photos and a peaceful walk along the shore. When it comes to food, Interlaken has plenty of cozy restaurants and cafés. I really enjoyed trying a classic Swiss fondue, perfect after a day of exploring. For a budget-friendly option, grab fresh pastries from local bakeries in the morning; they are delicious and save you time before heading out on an adventure. Getting around is surprisingly easy. The Swiss Travel Pass or local day tickets are worth it if you plan to explore nearby towns or lakes, as public transport is punctual, scenic, and stress-free. Inside Interlaken, most places are within walking distance, so you can enjoy the views while you get around. As a solo traveler, I found Interlaken both safe and exciting. There are endless outdoor activities, but the absolute highlight was paragliding over Interlaken. Flying between the mountains with the lakes glistening below is pure magic and you will never forget it. (Tip: book a morning flight if you can; the air is calmer and the views are crystal clear.) Whether you love nature, adventure, or just soaking in the beauty of the Swiss Alps, Interlaken has something for everyone.

    It looks like heaven...so beautiful, but stay out of the main village for accommodations. Shop at the small local shops on the fringe. Do grocery shop to save on meals, Coop and Aldi are cheap and they the have better priced souvenirs! Be respectful of the local culture and embrace it all!

    Swiss alpine village - just what I was looking for.

    Swiss alpine village - just what I was looking for. We had sunny days and a couple of rainy days, both were breathtaking in their own right. Nice connection too to Murren, Wengen, and Interlaken. At night, when the day tours have left, you can have the village "all for yourself" and that experience was almost divine.

    Wengen location was great and not as busy compared to Grindelwald. No cars allowed and quieter location. It’s definitely more of a ski village feel. The train station is easily accessible to all lodging. Only downside is the lack of restaurant options compared to larger villages such as Grindelwald. Shopped at COOP for additional snacks and food when needed. Overall had a great stay at Wengen.

    The apartment was spacious and had a terrific view from the balcony. Free parking was close by and checking in was a breeze. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests. We could stay here again and highly recommend this property.

    We only stayed at Brienz for one night en route between other places that we were visiting. The area has a lot of character with lovely old buildings and is on the shore of one of the many big lakes. It was very quiet during our brief stay, being in the period between the summer and winter seasons for tourists. We had just one evening meal which was a very tasty pizza.

    Good touristic opportunities in walking distance, like the waterfall, Aare gorge, cable car to go to a village with very nice view of the mountains and a place to drink a coffee, even on Sunday. In town you can have a coffee only in restaurants on Sunday, or in a kind of bar which did not give me a good impression.

    Not worth the money to book accommodation for even a one...

    Not worth the money to book accommodation for even a one night stay. Only cheap & tacky shops, lacks character & charm - very small (but there are so many lovely quaint towns in Switzerland!), & forgettable. Was recommended an Indian restaurant by a local - & that too was lousy :(
