- From £220.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 443 reviewsI had the pleasure of staying at Bad Murten See in the Deluxe Apartment, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had! The location is absolutely stunning, right by the beautiful lake, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to such scenic views was a true highlight of my stay. The Deluxe Apartment itself was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with all the amenities I could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It really felt like a home away from home. The room was tastefully decorated and had a cozy, welcoming vibe. The staff was exceptional – friendly, attentive, and always eager to assist with any request. It’s clear that customer service is a top priority here, and they go above and beyond to ensure guests have a fantastic experience. The hotel offers plenty of areas to relax and unwind – whether it’s by the lake or in one of the many lounge areas. The entire environment is perfect for both relaxation and enjoying some quality time in a beautiful setting. I would definitely return to Bad Murten See on my next visit to the area! It exceeded all my expectations, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!Guest review byMarikaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 870 reviewsThis hotel is impressive for its heritage: first documented as a hotel in the 14C. But despite some intentional remnants in the building, the rooms have been modernized by a designer with excellent style and taste. No indication that the room was any older than a few years! We had a room with a small kitchen and courtyard view, but it was spacious and very quiet - couldn't even hear any noise from the restaurant right below. Murten is a charming medieval town that is worth stopping in for a night when the tourists are gone and the atmosphere is special.Guest review byRichardCanada
- From £194.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 549 reviewsThe owners are super nice, the view is incredible, food is great, beds are comfy, room is very clean, there were toys for our kids and we loved the private balcony with the view! It was really perfect. The only thing I can mention is that you check the restaurant prices beforehand, the dinner was very delicious but it basically costed as much as our room for one night with breakfast included.Guest review byZsofiaHungary
- From £172.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,243 reviewsI loved everything about my room: the furnitures, the bathroom and the wonderful view. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant was also good. I came to Gruyères to visit the H. R. Giger Museum and bar. The hotel is centrally located, only a few steps from the Museum. It was perfect for me. Highly recommended.Guest review byIldikóHungary

Fribourg is not a large town but there are a few very interesting things to do. The museums are quite fantastic and have much to offer. There are many walks including up the hill to the Chapelle de Lorette. As a Catholic town, there are some fascinating relics and history at the local churches. As a bilingual city, its fascinating to hear French, Swiss German, and a decent amount of Italian all at the same time. The food scene is quite nice and not as expensive as other places in Switzerland.Guest review byKristian - 10.0

It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval centre, including intact and walkable fortification wall, and lots of nice places to eat. It is well-connected transport-wise for visits to nearby attractions like the roman ruins in Avenches or the (really well-worth visiting) 12th century abbey in Payerne. Lake boats ply daily (in summer) to Neuchatel.Guest review byMartinSwitzerland - 6.0

Tiny Gruyères is better suited for a daytime visit than an overnight stay. Food options are pricey and few between, with limited menus and no activities after dark. Better options for your stay would probably be in nearby Bulles.Guest review bygermeskernashUnited States - 10.0

We hiked to the peak.
We hiked to the peak. It pushed the limits of our 11 year old. Was just about perfect for our 14 and 16 year olds. We took plenty of breaks and round trip was like 6 or 7 hours. Lots of cows with bells on. Excellent views from the top. We hiked up counter clockwise along the loop. This put the rocky less pretty views on the first 1/2 of the hike. It was nice to have the more scenic views on the way down while we were tired. We should have started right in the morning as there was full sun exposure for almost the whole hike. Also, if it had rained or something there wouldn't have been much good cover.Guest review byMichaelGermany - 10.0

We had afternoon coffee and cake and breakfast at a local Cafe called Suard. Definitely a place for locals. The cake and breads were fabulous. Service exceptional. The area is quite industrial but in the foothills of forest and the countryside. Perhaps a 10 minute drive from the picturesque city of Fribourg which we sadly didn't have time to visit. We ate dinner in the Escale restaurant and could not fault anything, service, food and incredibly authentic and delicious. If you get a chance to stay Saturday night your in for a real treat as 200+ ladies and gentlemen descend on the Hall for 'Bingo' night. wonderfully old school and everyone really friendly.Guest review byLucieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Montbovon is a small village nestled between two villages. There isn't much to see - it's a convenient stopping off point for you to explore the Fribourg area without paying too much in accommodation fees. In terms of food choices, you'd be better off either eating at the hotel, or going to a nearby town to buy food before heading back to your hotel. That being said, the area is GORGEOUS in winter, and if you time your visit correctly, you can see the glorious mountains around you covered in snow.Guest review byDarylSingapore - 8.0

It is a small city but has amazing vibe where diversity meets. I went for business visit and could see lot of people from other countries have settled or visiting this location. The architecture and the city view is amazing. The train station has access to major cities and good enough to stay for a cozy travelers.Guest review bySaravana GopalanNetherlands - 10.0

Bulle is a lively small Swiss city close to the mountains of Fribourg. The city has a charming old center with a castle and there are several very nice bars and restaurants for drinks and dining. There are some fantastic Asian restaurants (Thai as well as Japanese) that offer delicious food and drinks. And, there are many opportunities for nearby hiking (e.g. around Lac de la Gruyère, or around the "Gastlosen" mountains starting from the Jaun village). Finally, there is the Cailler chocolate factory (in nearby Broc, 10 min by train), that is definitively worth a visit!Guest review byMarcelSwitzerland
