- From US$60.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 231 reviewsGreat location in the small village Mocagua, on the Amazon river. Nice, simple, comfortable rooms cleaned daily by the awesome staff. Beautiful surroundings, gardens and close to the jungle. Lots of birds, animals, insects around the premises. Just take a flashlight out at night and you will be amazed. Accommodating staff, just ask, they will do everything they can to accommodate the guests. Nice owner is always around makkg sure we were happy with our stay. They offer lots of activities to choose from, all nice and safe. We had the highest room with the terrace in the resort, with beautiful views of the river and sunset. Food is good and traditional/tipical, they make fresh juice with all the meals. All food is cooked daily, my favorite was the fish. But everything is delicious. The town is clean and it's worth exploring on foot, morning, day or night with flashlights to look for animals at night. The people in Mocagua are super friendly, we were even invited for lunch by one of the residents. Twice. Overall a great experience with La Cieba.Guest review byMihaiCanada
- From US$19.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 258 reviewsThe room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, the staff made the bed and did general cleaning daily. Carlos and his wife were lovely engaging hosts. Even with very little English on their part and very little Spanish on mine, we managed with Google translator. Wifi is spotty in Leticia in general, so make sure to do any vital internet work before arrival. As a solo female traveler I was careful to be back in the hostel by 7 - 8pm nightly as the road options to the hostel include some rather secluded / no sidewalk areas. But there are many Tuk Tuks available had I wanted to use that service to stay out later. Breakfast is available at the hostel for an additional $10,000 COP, an egg / ham wrap, with coffee and juice. Very tasty. Don't forget to check out the rooftop terrace! Great work space (as long as you are patient or don't need wifi), amazing spot for viewing the sunset over the Amazon, or eating take out!Guest review byMann
- From US$95.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 173 reviewsPerfect stay in lovely Leticia! We returned here after our Amazonas trip and we really enjoyed our time here. The room was clean and spacious enough for our family of 4. The kids loved the swimming pool and we enjoyed the hammocks and relax chairs around the pool. As a small hotel, Utuane offered a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere and that was just what we needed. The city center of Leticia is easily and affordably accessible by tuk-tuk, and the reception staff is more than happy to assist with calling one, ordering a pizza, or anything else you might need. Overall very laidback place and would absolutely recommend.Guest review byMirjamNetherlands
- From US$82.11 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 357 reviewsThe hotel is centrally located - 5 minutes away from the airport by taxi/tuk tuk and also minutes away from the boat terminal. Easy walk to Santander park. The bungalows are spacious and comfortable with big bathrooms and good aircon and fans. Nice garden, where you can grab a drink from the hotel’s bar. We appreciated the choice of regional breakfast options (Colombian, Brazilian or Peruvian). Lovely and super helpful staff, who let us store our bags while we travelled out of town and advised on migration process between Colombia and Brazil. Thank you for making our stay nice, comfortable and easy!Guest review byKatarzynaPoland

Leticia is the city you will reach to start your Amazonas adventures. We spent one night in town before we traveled up the river. After a long travel to reach Leticia, I would highly recommend spending a night or two in town before heading out on the river. There are lots of restaurants, bars, etc to explore in town.Guest review byStephanieUnited States - 10.0
Amazing little town in the jungle.
Amazing little town in the jungle. Get out of Leticia asap and stay there. There are no cars or motorcycles. Only foot traffic on perfectly paved paths. The people are unbelievably friendly, and it’s the cleanest town I’ve ever been to. Like Switzerland cleanGuest review byAnonymousUnited States - 8.0

Leticia is very safe and friendly, with plenty of stores, restaurants, bars, cafes, and more. There are plenty of police, soldiers, and coast guard. We walked from the airport to our downtown hotel, but the sidewalks and roads are rough. There are many inexpensive taxis, tuk-tuks, and even moto taxis (motorcycles). There are ATMs and currency exchanges, in case you want to go to the neighbour town in Brazil.Guest review byJamesCanada - 10.0

Leticia is a gateway for the Amazon so many people don't spend time here, myself included. But it would have been interesting to stay an extra day and visit Brazil, Peru which are both very close.Guest review byBrianUnited States - 10.0
July 2022. A special place. Great relaxed vibe.
July 2022. A special place. Great relaxed vibe. Locals friendly. Very safe to walk around. I’d recommend 3-4 nights to get full experience. Lots of cheap hostel options. We stayed at Refugio Maiku - recommended, but one the pricier options (US$25/day for a private room with b/r). A handful of options to eat. Most restaurants are clustered in one area. Margarita is biggest and has a good lunch buffet (US$5). Dona Luz and Rogelio (cheapest) are also recommended. At night, there is a parrilla in the street where you can get cheap eats. There are a couple of basic grocery stores facing the river where you get water, beer and other essentials. One is open until 11pm. Most tours (“actividades”) you’ll want a guide. Depending on the water level, the tours are very different. I’d recommend a night hike the first day you arrive. Tarapoto is a must. The trip to San Antonio reserva on the Peruvian side and hike to a ginormous tree is also beautiful. We didn’t have time to go, but heard great things about the hike in Parque Natural Amacayacu. Each tour we did was between $12 -$25 but can vary based on group size. When you arrive, you can go to the information booth and get a map and information on tours. You can walk on your own to the Wochine reservation on your own (25 minutes) and see the pirarucu and caimans. You can also walk to Altos de Aguila and see monkeys and parrots (15-20 minutes) Lots of people will offer to be your guide, but best to find someone recommended beforehand or to ask at your hostel. Brandon was our guide for a few tours and is recommended. Tickets for the ferry back to Leticia is behind the malecon. You can reserve a place the day before you travel.Guest review byAnonymousCanada
