- From US$62.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,452 reviewsa wonderful setting in a vast parklike ground with beautiful big trees ( palms, mango etc), somehow hidden on the fringe of a busy town. A perfect place to get a rest from a longer road trip or for a stop on the way back to Bogota. Especially the huge and great pool with super pleasant temperature was perfect for laps swimming and relaxation. Even more since there is another shallow one for kids and one more in the parc area as well a a turkish bath and a "bubble tub"..... If we had known about the place better and earlier, we would have planned to stay a little longer. I read about unremoved dishes etc and couldn`t see any of these complaints justified while we where there and even if- the garden-setting, the spacious room, the design and the very friendly staff and their service would have outweighted it anyway.Guest review byHey KGermany

This place is literally infested with mosquitos - repellent and other solutions are not an option. Be prepared for lot of mozzie bites regardless of your precautions. Best idea is not to go outside between 4pm-7pm. Wear long pants whenever you go out. Best (and really only) places to stay are Colsubsidio and Compensar. The rest have few facitlities and little value for money. Especially not rated: GHL Relax hotel - awful!Guest review byDanColombia - 8.0
Liked the customer service and quietness.
Liked the customer service and quietness. Great view and native birds from your balcony Rooms do NOT HAVE AC . Great pool and restaurant. Would help to have a simple bird guide to be able to identify them. Has a great opportunity for star gazing.Guest review byMauricioUnited States - 8.0

Follow the signs from the main highway between Sesquile and Guatavita to the ticket area. There are a number of places that will offer parking, go to the end and park at the gate. Parking is free, however the attendant certainly appreciated something. They only spoke Spanish, however the guide was excellent and everyone was very nice. Us old folks get a good discount. The trip up to the lake is maybe 1 1/2 Km. The first 2/3 is a nice paved path. The last is a steep accent with about 100 stair steps interspersed with a steep path. If your not used to the altitude it will take a bit to get up. The guide will leave you at the top to make your way along the top. There is only one trail and we had no problems. There will be a couple of guards along the way. On the way back as you exit the park you have the opportunity to take a bus back to the parking, it was reasonable and I would recommend as the path back was 3.5 KM on a one lane dirt road. They sold the tickets at a small kiosk next the restaurant at the end of trial where it meets the road.Guest review byEllsworthPuerto Rico - 6.0
I only saw the shopping mall nearby and two restaurants.
I only saw the shopping mall nearby and two restaurants. But there is much more in the area. The reason I stayed in Chia is I have a friend in school at Guaymaral Airport close by and I wanted a location that is also convenient to the wonderful Parque Jaime Duque. The park is wonderful and is easily accessible by cab or Uber from this hotel. I could've easily spent two whole days there.Guest review byRetTrvlrDEUnited States - 8.0

La Vega is a nice place, a quiet town; you can walk around easily. There are plenty of restaurants and variety of food. You can go to laguna "El Tabacal"; it is a good spot to stay no more than two days.Guest review byAngelicaColombia - 10.0

We stayed in the colonial area of town and it was gorgeous and safe. We visited during Christmas and got to see Christmas carolers in the town square and the absolutely beautiful lighting. Very romantic getaway for a couple.Guest review byFrank MolinaUnited States - 10.0
Guaduas is a beautiful town with historical significance due...
Guaduas is a beautiful town with historical significance due to its location near the port of Honda; there are fun activities and sites to visit like the lookouts of la Capira and Aguaclara, this last one requires hiring transport to get there (you may want to check weather conditions before going, as sometimes it gets cloudy). The mandatory stop is the Museum of La Pola, a historical figure which was born in the city; donations are welcome to keep the place running. You should stop by the Versalles waterfall, but it is not recommended to swim there due to certain conditions upstream that have affected the quality of the water. For the ones looking for adventure, you can do paragliding and four wheelers; as usual, please check that you are offered complete information before signing any waivers if doing these activities (check for road worthy certificates for the four wheelers and certificates for the paragliding instructors). At the main square you will find local food of great quality, but service tends to be slow at peak hours due to the volume of visitors. For international travelers, it is highly recommended to have cash, as sometimes ATMs won't work with foreign banks (sometimes it is luck of the draw) or the surcharge for using them is high (you can contact your bank when returning to have these fees reimbursed). Cell phone coverage in the area varies depending on the phone company, but wifi at hotels is good and usually free.Guest review byRemmirathionColombia - 6.0

We stayed here at the end of a long weekend. We had friends from overseas with us. the town was mostly closed and while the park looked great there were 2 restaurants playing duling speakers that ruined the entire experience unless you go there just to get drunk it's not nice.Guest review byjamesColombia - 6.0

It is a very good place if you have business to attend to or friends to visit in the area. There is a very nice Shopping Mall close by with good stores, coffee shops, movie theaters and great restaurants. Try to avoid getting into downtown Chia. The traffic is horrendous.Guest review byGloriaCanada - 10.0

This is a charming town with an interesting historic downtown where you can learn more about the history of the Spanish colony, but also the history of the independent movements against it. The weather is very pleasant, and you can tan in the afternoon and relax at night because it is not too hot. The town has also outdoor experiences, such as Piedra Capira (the best sighting point in Colombia in my opinion) and the "royal road," the remains of the colonial path connecting Honda and Bogota (Santafe).Guest review byAngelaColombia
