- From £36.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 372 reviewsThis is a family run business - Chantal, her mother and brother were amazing hosts, super easy to deal with, extremely friendly, helpful and they very welcoming! They had so much local knowledge of the island and went out of their way to help - they even drove me to the store to get some water and supplies that i needed and helped arranged a special dinner out. Bonus: Chantals mother is an incredible cook and made us lunch one day which was out of this world! Meatballs, rice, lentil soup, salad and a mago type dessert…. The hotel is very Nice, small and quaint but right on the water overlooking a beautiful bay in the ocean. There is literally marine life everywhere right in front of you - i would get up in the morning to have my coffee on the hammock a d watch the eagle rays, pencil fish or other types jumping and swimming within 5 feet of me! Rooms are clean, air conditioned and comfortable, they have their own kittle beach area but there are some other larger beaches very nearby - my daughter, wife and I will definitely be returning!Guest review byStefanCosta Rica
- From £32.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 302 reviewsThis charming posada on a small island offers a relaxed getaway with plenty of character. Conveniently located just a 7-minute taxi ride from the airport—and even more affordable by tuk tuk—it provides a warm welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are cozy, equipped with a fridge, efficient air conditioning, and, although the Wi-Fi can be a bit unpredictable, the views from the room more than make up for it. Keep in mind that, like many places on the island, there is no running hot water. Breakfast is simple yet enjoyable, and you’ll appreciate the water dispenser on-site. The friendly staff, along with the welcoming local community, add to the overall laid-back vibe of the island. Even though the posada isn’t beachfront, the beach isn’t far off at all. You can easily rent a scooter, grab a taxi, or opt for the cheaper tuk tuk to explore the island, with South West beach being a personal favorite. Overall, I would definitely recommend this delightful spot for anyone looking to experience a chill and authentic island escape.Guest review byJuditUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 108 reviewsThe cabanas are lovely, set in a nice garden with even a pool that is useful after a day at the beach. The interior of the cabanas is basic but they are clean, spacious, with fridge and air conditioning and an outdoor space. The staff is friendly and helpful and the included breakfast is good and complete. I had read negative reviews and honestly don't see the point. The beach in front no longer exists because of the hurricane that hit the island a few years ago, the bar/restaurant La Terrazza in front offers sunset views and really good cocktails. Providencia is still an island little exploited by mass tourism, but there is a lot of restaurants , especially on the beach, really nice and good, with delicious fish and lobster. There are sunflies and mosquitos but with a good repellent they are kept away 😉Guest review byManuelaItaly

Getting to Providencia seems like a hassle, particularly for those who are not coming from Colombia, but it's actually quite easy and worth the visit! People on the island are very friendly, making it feel safe for solo travelers or couples. There are spots to eat within walking distance of the major beaches. Because the island relies on tourism, one can easily find a tour guide to take them diving, hiking, or generally from place to place. Getting around is easy via motorbike or golf cart.Guest review byNadiaLaos - 10.0
Santa Catalina is the smaller island north of Providence.
Santa Catalina is the smaller island north of Providence. It's quieter, walking-only, and connected to the other island via a bridge. In a way, this is the prettier island, and it's got the historic fort plus pirate hideouts to the north (accessable via swimming or boat). It's got a tiny, quiet beach which is absolutely gorgeous. Both islands combined are tiny and easy to get around, so I ate on Providencia mostly, though there are cafes on Santa Catalina and I bought drinks and snacks at the shops on Santa Catalina. I liked staying on Santa Catalina and would stay there next time.Guest review byTanksalvalaUnited States - 10.0

Old orovidence is an amazing island and people, it is more caribbean than colombian. The food is fantastic, poeple are are guenuinely kind. The paces to visit are beautiful, some of the beaches are tucked away and off the beaten track, manchaneel beach. It is quiet, if you wat to rest, write or be creative. There are still signs of the devistation from hurricane Iota, but thats because those in charge have been slow to remove it. However this does not take away from neopolitan ice cream coloured churches and houses. It definitely has a sea of seven colours. It is an unspoilt jewel in the caribbean.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The island is beautiful and not crowded at all.
The island is beautiful and not crowded at all. However, it has a terrible stray dog issue. Especially at Southwest beach where a few roam around in the evenings attacking tourists. One of them bit me. If you’re traveling alone, I’d keep that in mind.Guest review byRonald
