This hotel was very special for us and definitely one of our best accommodations in Costa Rica. Staying in a very tastefully furnished house at cloud level and enjoying the surroundings by a fireplace was unique. Greivin was an outstanding host, his great hospitality rounded it all off and we felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived.

The cabin is beautiful and in a lovely location. Quiet at night and in the morning, with just the sound of nature. The beds are comfortable and plenty of blankets available. The open fire is also lovely. The cabin is spacious and cosy. Internet was also good as was the TV.

El Toucanet is a delightful small hotel in the mountains with rustic cottages and a spacious, beautiful restaurant overlooking a garden. Moises, at the desk, was a gracious and caring host, as was the kitchen staff. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Navigation is a must, as the hotel is about 30 minutes from the Pan American Hwy (Hwy 2) - absolutely worth the effort to get there. The sunny morning at breakfast with windows open and many species of hummingbirds feeding was most memorable.

Wonderful location in the valley. The hosts knew little English but were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms have a nice view, are spacious and have amazing beds. The breakfast was awesome as well! They organise Quetzal tours as well.

We booked two nights here. The lodges were very sweet, cozy for two people. There was a queen sized bed and a single bed. There was hot water in the shower. The true highlight was the adjacent restaurant, Miriam’s Quetzals which belongs to the same owners. We arrived bit after 7 pm, when it closes however they offered us to stay for dinner, which we very much appreciated. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, great dishes, excellent coffee and the view was simply amazing. They feed birds and so while having breakfast you can observe Colibris, tucans etc from up close!! We highly recommend. Also they do help organize guides for quetzal spotting, if desired. The area is great for hiking, nearby is a waterfall hike and further down the valley is the savegre area for longer hikes.

Amazing fancy restaurant quality food in the rainforest. Water is good and won’t get you sick. Rooms are clean and pest free, and very comfortable for a rustic area far from the city in Costa Rica in the middle of the rainforest. There is no AC, but the fans are powerful and I slept well. Amazing bird and animal life all around, and kind and attentive staff.

The lodge is right next to the forest with several walking paths to explore for different levels of difficulty. Tres de Junio is also centrally located between San Gerardo and Santa Maria de Dota, thus making it relatively quick a visit to both as well as other National Parks and trekkings (Tapanti, Los Quetzales and Cerro de la Muerte). Plan for at least 3 nights stay.

A great place to stay to enjoy some cooler temperatures, nature, birdlife and find those beautiful quetzals! Altitude is high, around 3000m so be prepared for that as you may have mild altitude illness which can impact the stay.

I really enjoyed the bird feeders off the deck. I felt that for the price of the room, breakfast should have been included in the price, which is very typical in Costa Rica. The diner and breakfast were very good.

It is really nice, we went to Savegre for dinner since we had a reservation made on one restaurant there, but I am sure that if you plan the trip to fully stay on Copey you would find a lot to see, walk and do there. If you decide to go and visit Savegre take into consideration that it is a 40min drive

This place is a bird-lover's paradise! And it's nice to feel cold sometimes in an otherwise warm, tropical country. Everyone is very nice, and very nature-oriented. The trees are all primary growth and fascinating and beautiful to see. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica (so far).

The hotel is quite rustic but cozy ! The room met our basic needs. The staff was friendly and informed us about their great walking trail of 3km---don't miss this experience! The food was DELICIOUS! Covid procedures are in place and followed. You are surrounded by beautiful and quiet nature! A great place to get away from it all !
