I am biased because I used to spend annual summer holidays staying with my grandparents when I was little and have loved every minute. Papenburg was nice but we felt one day was enough.
Papenburg was nice but we felt one day was enough. There is a nice pedestrianised area along a canal with shops, bars and restaurants. There is a park and also a large lake close by. We felt that if you are looking for a quiet couple of days away it would be ok. We had a fantastic dinner in the pedestrianised area at Restaurant MediTerra, and had fish of the day, whole grilled seabass, it was reasonably priced and the staff were lovely.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A great town, close to the border, with all you need for a vacation, great people, very friendly, clean and a lot of facilities in nature for walking and relaxing. This is a wonderful rental apartment. Spacious, and great location. Parking was great for our rental car. The water pressure was awesome in the shower. Very modern features, like the TV that had Netflix and could change the language to English on some channels. Grocery stores were nearby.
