Great accommodation in a lovely location. Nice room, stylish furniture, modern bathroom. Everything spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Spacious balcony with seating and amazing views. Extremely friendly and helpfull owners and staff. Nice breakfast. Easy parking in front of the pension. Highly recommended. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. Staying here has been one of our favourite holidays. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and everyone (including other, mostly German, guests) have made us feel very welcome with our 11week old baby. When he occasionally cried / winged at dinner, people would say “don’t worry, it’s just a special kind of music for us” <3 , made a week long stay with a young baby so much less stressful, it was truly wonderful. The full board is a great value for money, great breakfast with lots of fresh bread and pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, plenty of options for tea and coffee, lots of fresh fruit and hot cooked options as well. It also has a chef station where you can oder custom omelettes as well as pancakes! Lunch is a similar set up i.e. buffet and salad bar, and everyday there are different options which keeps it interesting if you’re staying for a longer period of time. For dinner, you have a delicious 5 course meal with your choice of main. The Spa facilities are very zen and relaxing, done up to a very high standard. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are heated to 30 degrees with plenty of sun beds in the garden as well as inside. There are 4 different saunas, ice tray and scented showers, plenty of relaxing rooms including a Himalayan salt room and heated hung beds. You also get a free scrub and aloe vera cream to use. The Spa also has chilled water and apple juice on tap and a tea / coffee station. Treatments were lively and relaxing at a very reasonable rates. The bedroom was very spacious, with very comfortable bed and overall a fantastic layout and design of the room! The location is absolutely stunning, right in the middle of the Bavarian Forest, with hiking trails a short walk from the hotel. There are plenty of things to do, including a free zoo at Lusen, which is only a short drive away. A wonderful place for an active or relaxing (or both!) holiday. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic time and can’t wait to come back!

    Very friendly staff, always ready to help, especially at the restaurant! Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfasts were very good, wide choice of vegetables and fruits, fresh bread, different types of cheese and ham, cereals, tasty omelette a d sausages. Coffee was also very tasty. Dinner buffet was also beyond the expectations, especially on Friday and Saturday evening: fish, meat, chicken, vegetables, wide range of desserts, soup of the day - very delicious! The bar is very cosy, nice choice of drinks and cocktails. The Spa area was amazing as well: warm enough swimming pool, two big saunas, the massage was very relaxing and professional: the best I’ve ever tried at the hotels! The location is very good-many skiing slopes nearby, just 5-10 min by car. Enough space for parking a car. Even when the hotel is full of guests, the staff is very quick and always try to help with everything!!!

    The property is really clean, the facilities are wonderful. The variation of food is great. The staffs are exceptional friendly and helpful and really welcoming. I got a wonderful surprise..I didn’t expect it that they’re really thoughtful like that. I booked this getaway to enjoy “me” time for my birthday and this was really a better than I could imagine and ask for :)

    The town itself is not really a tourist magnet and there...

    The town itself is not really a tourist magnet and there aren't many sights to see in the town itself, except maybe for the glass factory and museum. But the position in the Bavarian forest makes it ideal for day trips, with and without kids. And for a lazy day, there's always the Stadtpark with the playground.

    Sankt Englmar area was a lot of fun for hiking.

    Sankt Englmar area was a lot of fun for hiking. There were many trails and routes to choose from. It is hilly country, but with spectacular views, wonderful scenery and friendly residents along the way (i.e. farmers). The village itself is very tiny with only one grocery store, one pharmacy and a handful of restaurants, baker and butcher. Opening hours are limited to those that are normal to life in a little village (i.e., no 7-22 h and limited Saturday hours).

    Sankt Englmar is small, and if you are looking for a busy...

    Sankt Englmar is small, and if you are looking for a busy place with lots to do at night, go somewhere else. But for its size it has a lot to offer, some nice restaurants and especially cafes, a good supermarket (Edeka), a great baker's with cakes, a church, and the Kurpark is great, with Kneipp bath, an outdoor swimming pond, and other things. There are many walks around which are easy to follow using the guide which you can get for free with the Erlebniskarte, which is great value. We like eating in Buglhof, as it is closest to Romantik Apartments, but the restaurant in the square is good too. This time we visited the WaldWipfelWeg, which is certainly worth a visit and we have been to the Xperium before, which is also great. The place is very peaceful and they have done a lot to make it a good place to visit, so enjoy.

    Very nice and clean town.

    Very nice and clean town. It's very calm, suitable either for older people or families with little children. Not for young people who want to search entertainment in the evening. There is a nice park (Kurpark) and an aquapark (Aquacur). There aren't many restaurants or pubs, on Sunday there're all closed. There is enough of parking lots.
