- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,358 reviewsThis is really an amazing place, so charming and cozy. We liked it since the moment we parked our car in front. All the surroundings and the hotel itself are wonderful! The staff is super friendly and nice. The room was warm and cozy. Maybe we had luck, but the swimming pool area was not crowded at all and we really enjoyed it. The dinner and the breakfast were very delicious. There is also a bar, where we tested some cakes with beer and we were not disappointed at all :) This is a perfect place to relax and be close to the nature. I would highly recommend it, we will be back for sure :)Guest review byRadostinaBulgaria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,226 reviewsThe hotel is very clean, every detail is considered, check in was a breeze, room (Hamburg) was very well prepared, cleaned up and refreshed daily. The breakfast was one of the best in my life; excellent combination of good service and a large variety of products - from red caviar to fruits salads. There are also some nice facilities such as heated infinity pool, indoor pool both in excellent condition. It worths mentioning the whole personnel; everybody is smiling and is trying to make your staying as pleasant as possibleGuest review byMugurRomania

Lovely city, lots of sights to see.
Lovely city, lots of sights to see. After 3 visits we still haven't seen everything. Lots of places to have a drink in the afternoon and early evening, but bar and terraces do seem to close early. So if it's a warm summer evening and you want to have an evening drink that may be a bit of a problem.Guest review byJackNetherlands - 10.0

WE have been before and it is still a great place to stay, on the river with boat trips, good roads to Trier etc, many wine tasting locations are within walking distance, it gets busy in the day but evenings when the coaches have gone it is really lovely!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Boppard is a pretty town and small enough to be able to get...
Boppard is a pretty town and small enough to be able to get anywhere on foot. There are many bars and restaurants. The weather was hot during our visit, so we spent most evenings in the Ebertor Biergarten overlooking the Rhine. Food and drink there were good and reasonably priced. We also made several visits to the De Lorenzi Eiscafe. There are a lot of great and well marked walking trails (Traumschleifen) nearby - you can pick up printed copies of these at the Tourist Information in the town or online. The Sesselbahn cable car is a must for great views of the Rhine. Boppard is a great base from which to explore the Rhine Gorge. There are many castles to visit (we particularly enjoyed Marksburg) and many cruise lines stop at Boppard. We took the KD Nostalgie cruise to Bacharach (2 hours each way, with 3.5 hours for lunch and to explore Bacharach) and would thoroughly recommend this.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Its a small Rhine River town with a nice selection of stores. It's quiet and an old castle you can walk or drive up to. It's a great small town to take a break within short dive to explore other Rhine towns north and south of St Goar.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 10.0
Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany.
Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany. I had one day to explore Germany before meeting up with my tour group, and I read Rick Steve's Germany book and he recommended the Rhine Valley. He also recommends Bacharach as a city to set up base in. Bacharach is such an interesting town! So much history, much of the original buildings are still intact and in use. I did the Bacharach historical walk from Rick Steve's book and it took about an hour and a half. So relaxing and enriching. there's also a K-D tour boat that stops in Bacharach so you can travel up and down the Rhine and view sites such as the Lorely,Guest review byPowley - 10.0
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns We caught local bus to Cochem for the day -- which was very easy we travelled in October so a few places had closed but still enough places to eat and have a glass of wineGuest review byRhondaAustralia - 10.0
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks. In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you. Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.Guest review byAri FijanNetherlands - 8.0

We were visiting long time business friends , long retired now . Not been since covid so good time had by all catching up. Seen all the sites . Mill , cave , stones , etc. Speisebraten, wine hunting on Nahr. , Mosel and Rhine takes up most of our time. Kuchen n coffee.Guest review byPearlUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The best is its great location, especially in those rooms...
The best is its great location, especially in those rooms that have a total view of the Porta Nigra. It is close to the most enchanting places of Trier. The worst: a) the night staff is terrific, b) there is no designated space to leave your luggage for a few hours; they left it just behind the front desk. c) The bedclothes are not the standard in Mexico and the USA. It only includes a coat that does not completely protect you; it is too heavy in hot weather, and I suppose that having conditioned air in wintertime could be enough. But I didn´t like it.Guest review byFRANCISCO JAVIERMexico - 8.0

Bernkastel is a small village, so it is easy to get around on foot. One day walk around and see it is more than enough. Within Bernkastel and within 10 minutes driving distance one can find exceptional wineries which offer wine tastings and tours.Guest review byLeonidasBelgium
