Braubach is a small quiet town on a picturesque section of the Rhine. The hike up to the castle above the town is scenic and takes about 30 minutes. Another hike a bit longer goes to a neighboring hill with great views of the town and castle for photos. The hotel was pleasant, accommodations reasonably priced and roomy, with access to a garden. The breakfast was super. Go to the Braubacher Weingarten and try the local wines.

This was a lovely hotel, and our room (no 305) was stunning. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. Staff were very friendly. We would highly recommend Rheinliebe bistro for dinner. Ask staff for shortcut at the back of the hotel . Also enjoyed wine tasting at weingut graf von kanitz in the village. There is a well stocked supermarket at the top of the road too.

This hotel is a one in a hundred find. The young owners have given it a warm 1920s eclectic feel that reflects their commitment, passion and attention to detail and they cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. The rooms are more like staying in a rich old house than a hotel. If you get a chance ask to meet their beautiful German Shepherd Lilly.

Lovely Hotel, friendly helpful staff, Great location 2 minutes walk to the train station. Hotel situated on the Rhine. Plenty of choice for breakfast and plenty of it. Choice of eggs and bacon every morning. We ate in the Restaurant most nights, food was cooked to perfection. Room was large and comfortable. Good parking in front of Hotel. Great hotel on the banks of the River Rhine, my room had a balcony over looking the Rhine which was very peaceful watching the boat go past. The room was very clean and very comfortable bed. Hotel staff were fantastic and went over and above their duties. Food at the hotel is also very good and traditional. Plenty of parking outside, in a very nice little village.

Although quite busy early evening, the village quietens down quickly around 9.30pm Assmanshausen is a god centre for boat trips through the Rhein Gorge with some wonderful walking country through the woodlands and vineyards,

This is a lovely small wine village in the glorious MIttelrhein (Middle Rhine) region, offering better prices and no crowds in comparison to the larger towns. Accommodation comes with a Euro 1.5 surcharge, a tiny fee which gives you a VRM travel pass, for free travel on trains, trans and buses over a large area - this is amazing value.

    Nice village/city at the Rhine.

Nice village/city at the Rhine. Several antique buildings worth seeing. Bad coffee at the restaurant near the Rhine (not the KD boat stand, try that one please). Enough shops and supermarkets. Free parking on Saturdays. I ate at the appartment. I stayed there for visiting friends, for site-seeing you'll only need some hours,

Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge .

Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge . Transport links are very easy and convenient with hourly trains in both directions to Frankfurt and Koblenz and Cologne and a short walk to hotels and guest houses from the rail station. There is also a ferry across the river for cars and foot passengers to Oberwesel . Like all the Rhineland towns and villages there is excellent scenery and plenty of walking routes from up steep paths to stunning views and easier low level paths along the Rhine embankment. Kaub is as good as all of the Rhine gorge locations very convenient for all types of traveler and tourist, whether you travel by private transport or public Kaub is easy and convenient with with excellent scenery and is a great place to stay.

We used Lahnstein as a base for travelling around the area but there is also plenty to do within walking distance of this apartment. Be very wary of relying on German trains - we used DB to travel around the area as well as to get to and from the Eurostar at Brussels. Without doubt this is the worst train system I've used with packed trains (no seats even when reserved in first class), regularly delayed trains, and trains stopping several stations short of the advertised destination.
