- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 295 reviewsWe arrived late in the evening, after the reception opening hours, but the lady still came to meet us, passed the key and gave us the main information about the hotel, area and the places to eat. Hotel is dog friendly (we had a little dog with us), very well located (great position to be if you're exploring the island by car), there are shops, cafes & bars in a few minutes walk. We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor, which was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows and towels, water in the shower was always hot and good pressure. Apartment has everything you might need for your stay and a lot of extras. We had HB included and it was the best decision we made. The hotel has an agreement with a local and dog friendly restaurant less then 5 minutes walk away. The food was really good, tasty, there was a good choice of dishes, portions were generous and the staff was really nice and friendly. One night during our stay the restaurant was closed, so we were offered to have a breakfast in the other cafe, which is 15 minutes walk from the hotel, it was really nice and tasty too. For the evening meal that day we were giving a choice of a refund or take away to the apartment. As the kitchen in the hotel is really good equipped and has everything you need, we chose a take away and had a lovely meal in. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and HB option!Guest review byAnna KlusovaSpain
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 311 reviewsI loved every single thing about this place! It is located in amazingly picturesque place, it is super quiet, our studio was well equipped, beds were super cosy, it was super clean and well taken care of! It is definitely The Place with a Soul. The owners put their heart in every detail and you can feel it straightaway. Waking up to birds singing and drinking coffee in well-kept , beautiful garden with breathtaking views, what else is to wish! I want to thank owners of the place and staff for making our stay incredible!Guest review byAnastassiyaSpain
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 36 reviewsThe place is incredible, all appliances you'd like are available in the flat(washing machine, kettle, coffee maker,...) and the couple in charge of running the place is very helpful and is willing to accommodate you in every way. The rooftop is right in front of the sea, the view is breathtaking. Having a drink looking to the stars with the sound of the ocean is definitively something you'd love ! It's the cutest village on the island. The flat is very near from the pools by the ocean.Guest review byAurelieFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 541 reviewsAbsolutely wonderful spot :) bright, spacious, comfortable rooms. Comfy bed, great shower. Nice dinner and full breakfast buffet. The jacuzzi and sauna were really nice after a long hike. The view was amazing, the hotel is right on the sea's edge. Sweet cats roam around the property too which made it extra homey :)Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom

There was a great selection of fresh fruits, especially the papaya and pineapple—very fresh and flavorful. The room with a view was amazing too; I watched the sunrise every morning. - Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 229 reviewsExcellent breakfast. Views from the room and its own terrace were wonderful. It is close to a couple of eating places so the B&B facility was fine. It is up a long hill about 1K from the town centre which is fine if you are fit and do not want to use your car.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom

The town was close by and had all the amenities you could hope for. The restaurants were all varied and excellent value. Frontera itself was centrally located, the ideal place to explore the readt of the island. The roads are excellent and mostly easy to drive with the exception of a mountain pass to the south of the island which was pretty hair raising but good fun if care taken.Guest review bycullyUnited Kingdom - 4.0

This is supposed to be one of the best diving spot in the Atlantic near Europe. But, with perhaps one or two exceptions, the dives were underwhelming: Little life, kinda rocky and muddy, the visibility is mediocre. I might have been unlucky, as always with scuba, but it was pretty unanimous. That said, the village is charming, genuine, and mostly filled with locals and local tourists. Extremely friendly.Guest review byJeanFrance - 10.0

This town is the main service centre for the island and has most facilities. The bus network is centered here. Some bus routes must be pre-booked. The tourist office isn't very good. It couldn't provide a bus timetable and sent us to the wrong place to get one. However, bus times are available online and a paper copy can be collected from the bus station. Walking routes are well signposted and waymarked and there is a good network in all directions.Guest review byPamelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We really enjoyed our stay in Isora – it’s a lovely, calm, and quiet place, perfect for relaxing and slowing down. The views of the surrounding landscape are beautiful and make the whole experience feel peaceful and grounding. There’s a small supermarket nearby, which made it easy to pick up whatever we needed without having to drive far. It’s not a busy or touristy spot, which we really appreciated – just nature, fresh air, and a slower pace of life. If you're looking for a quiet escape with scenic views and a local feel, Isora is a great choice.Guest review byEliskaCzech Republic - 8.0

La Frontera is a lively, small town that offers all for the daily needs. Good location to experience the island of El Hierro. Many small restaurants, bars and small supermarkets and sports shops. In comparison, Valverde, despite capital, seems deserted and kind of depressing. La Restinga is too far away from anything else on the island. My recommendation therefore is clearly the area of La Frontera.Guest review byHolgerSwitzerland - 4.0

Most restaurants closed for Christmas so, as we prefer eating in the evening without driving, we ate most evenings in the apartment. Much less to do in town than we anticipated. The island of El Hierro is really beautiful. Great for sightseeing and trekking. Very friendly people.Guest review byJohn ArthurUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Valverde was my "home town" and so I am prejudiced in its favour. My visit this time was to complete some business from when I was resident. The name extends to a wider area known as the ayuntamiento of which there are now three on the island. The town is also the island capital and so, by default, provides needs not fulfilled elsewhere. For example the hospital provides higher standards of care than would be expected in a community of around just ten thousand. Visitors should be aware of temperature gradients across the island. It is often true that Valverde town is seven degrees cooler than places on the coast - but the reverse can occur under some conditions! Valverde is a compact human-scale town. Everywhere (except some residential suburbs) is reachable within 15-20 minutes walk. There are several 'bus services mainly 4/5 times daily to other parts of the island and so Valverde is a good transport hub.Guest review byAlanIreland - 10.0

A beautifull Island, very different than all other Canary Islands. Its Nature is very well preserved, its under UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, its fossil free, has lots of very well marked hiking ways allover the island, beautifull Natural pools on the coasts, some few black sand beaches, the highlands / mountain regions are very green with old Canary Pine trees and Laurel trees, a lot of endemic plants, the coasts are more vulcanic, some very barren, the views from all the Miradors are stunning. you feel far away from everything, clean air, very clear sea, wind, waves, sunshine, cooling climate in the mountains, warm on the coasts...all this you can experience on this small island.Guest review byNathalieSwitzerland - 10.0

La Restinga is a lovely fishing port at the very southern tip of this beautiful island, and actually the continent of Europe. It has only a few bars and restaurants and a couple of small, but well stocked, mini markets. There are a couple of sandy beach areas as well as wooden sunbathing platforms close to steps to get into the sea. There is a public bus service but I would strongly recommend car hire.Guest review byMARKSpain
