Lovely staff who were helpful and friendly, very nice comfortable rooms. Free street parking and you can park and drop your luggage. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. I highly recommend it and would return. Sabiote was a lovely village to explore.

Everything was brand-new, the space felt clean and the beds were comfy. They had lovely toiletry from Rituals, a luxurious brand. The view was nice and the breakfast was simple but delicious. The staff was professional and friendly.

Quiet, clean friendly and beautiful location dog friendly
If you want to get away close to nature then this is a good spot. It has a Hunting lodge style with a good restaurant and bar beside a large veranda where you can watch the scenery, have a glass of wine and listen to nature. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. We had a small balcony to let us sit and watch over the valley. Staff are all very nice and cheerful. We had a half board package at a very reasonable price. The menu selection was good as was the food. Portions were very generous. There's a pack of tame geese to provide some entertainment and amusement when they go on parade around the artificial lake. You can travel to local nature spots but we just went on the local walk along the bank of the Guadalquivir. We saw some deer, jays, nutthatch, crossbills and terrapins. We could hear green woodpeckers calling but didn't get a glimpse. We only stayed two nights but there seems to be plenty to see for a longer trip. The views on the drive from Cordoba were pretty spectacular. It's a typical mountain drive with a good surface but a winding road with a long climb. The parking there is fine. We didn't use the pool but it looked good. The drive North along the river towards Murcia is pleasant also. So a very enjoyable stopover.
Fantastic location, walking distance to town. Our room was more like a small apartment, very comfortable with the AC too. Right next to the pool and dog friendly. Very quiet relaxing stay. We also ordered takeaway from the restaurant for lunch! Great idea 👍
Parador built out of 13th century fortress. Ideal relaxing place high above town with pool. Ideal location to visit Jaen region, olive oil capital of the world. Great restaurant with great staff! A good place for a splurge.
Incredible place to stay, completely surrounded by nature: green valleys, forests, rivers and cliffs. If you want to disconnect, I recommend it 10/10. Hotel is well equipped, clean and smells good :)
It was so old worldly but had all mod cons and was warm in the room which was perfect as very cold outside. The staff were very welcoming. Our first stay at a Parador and it did not disappoint.

The streets in the town centre are very narrow which are shared by pedestrians and cars and at times come too close for comfort.
A number of the bars and restaurants are closed for a number of days during the week or some permanently due to lack of staff!!
The food served in most places was Tapas, Raciones which were mainly very good if not too different from one bar to another.
If you are sightseeing by car be prepared for challenging mountain roads
and local rally drivers.
The town has a lot of charm but as a natural reserve better not to be visited in the hot summer months.

Plenty of places to eat and drink in Jaen - will return - thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Ubeda is such a beautiful town, and if you are there with friends and have some time you can really experience all it has to offer, mostly food, drinks and architecture.
We didn't have the time to visit the olive farms, and see how olive oil is produced, definetly on the list if we ever return!
Would highly recommend it if you are in the area!

Currently the town centre is undergoing major refurbishment work, making the lovely central square a building site. But the town has many excellent restaurants, and the local people are very friendly and welcoming. There is little else to do or see in the surrounding area, as this is the centre of the olive oil production, with millions of trees as far as the eye can see in every direction. The nearest other town is Ubeda but in our opinion, Baeza is more pedestrian friendly and is more historically interesting. The tourist train is a very pleasant way to see the town.

Linares is a typical Spanish town.
Linares is a typical Spanish town. There is not a lot to do here, but has an old lead mining history and just outside there is a very good Roman archaelogical site with mosaics etc at Castulo which was an unplanned and amazing find.

I came with my sun to twitch the Iberian Lynx, we succeeded and saw 5 lynx, including a female with two cups. In the evening we spend some time in the city, we found some nice restaurants, the food is excellent and very cheap in relation with prices we pay in Holland.

The castle on top of the village is worth visiting. We only had time to do one of the trails. We also highly recommend the restaurant just above the church, which has wonderful views from the Terrace

Lovely views and walks from the village (though probably more from nearby Cazorla).
We travelled in April, just after Easter, and there were no restaurants open in the village, so the one small minarket had to suffice. Had the weather been better, we could probably have walked into Cazorla village where there may have been places to eat

If your time is limited I would much rather stay in close by...
If your time is limited I would much rather stay in close by Ubeda which in my view outclasses Cazorla by far. From Ubeda take the road behind Cazorla to the Parador. Maybe stroll a few minutes in Cazorla. The roads are very very steep and very very narrow and… there is quite a bit of traffic - locals commuting. There are not that many restaurants in Cazorla (out of season that is) and again Ubeda is much better from this point. Then take the N322 back to Ubeda and you’ll have one of the most scenic drives of your life.
