This place was perfect with an easy drive to the port of Barcelona the next day. Everything about this beautiful place was beyond our expectations. Not far off the highway, we decided to take the slightly longer route down the narrow roads through the vineyards; it was very picturesque & an easy drive. The building itself is very old & beautifully positioned overlooking the vines.....the sunset here was gorgeous. Inside, a delicious dinner was served in the old wine cellar which made for a lovely atmosphere. Our room was superb to say the least. We had a beautiful large bedroom & well appointed bathroom with the most amazing shower ever!! The large swimming pool was very refreshing in the heat. Clara communicated with me beforehand that "extra" therapeutic services were available if needed. As I had strained a muscle 2 weeks earlier, she organised a remedial massage with Valentin (an osteopath) who quickly sorted out my injury. Breakfast is abundant & delicious. We were really surprised to find her speaking very good English when the hotel/ apartment is located in such a beautiful country side in remote area. Apartment is beautifully and tastefully restored with high standard. We enjoyed staying at such a unique local old building which is such an experience while away from home. They offer the optional breakfast at the restaurant where parking is located with security camera. Restaurant was closed for the day we have checked in. So we could not taste the local cuisine for dinner. However what we have been offered for the breakfast, we were sure what they offer for dinner must be a great one as we have really enjoyed the Spanish style local breakfast. The open space downstairs allows for people to enjoy each others company while doing different activites (e.g. the people cooking can participate in the conversations happening in the sofa corner, because of the open design). The upstairs rooms are quiet and well insulated, and the shutters keep it nice and dark. The swimming pool was a treat and we were lucky enough that the weather allowed us to enjoy a swim or two, and there are loads of trails and hike opportunities in the surroundings. Great dinner and excellent breakfast. small tip: At arrival it is not immediately clear where the hotel reception is. Font Rubi has 2 locations within 30 meters.
