- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,064 reviewsIf you want to get away close to nature then this is a good spot. It has a Hunting lodge style with a good restaurant and bar beside a large veranda where you can watch the scenery, have a glass of wine and listen to nature. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. We had a small balcony to let us sit and watch over the valley. Staff are all very nice and cheerful. We had a half board package at a very reasonable price. The menu selection was good as was the food. Portions were very generous. There's a pack of tame geese to provide some entertainment and amusement when they go on parade around the artificial lake. You can travel to local nature spots but we just went on the local walk along the bank of the Guadalquivir. We saw some deer, jays, nutthatch, crossbills and terrapins. We could hear green woodpeckers calling but didn't get a glimpse. We only stayed two nights but there seems to be plenty to see for a longer trip. The views on the drive from Cordoba were pretty spectacular. It's a typical mountain drive with a good surface but a winding road with a long climb. The parking there is fine. We didn't use the pool but it looked good. The drive North along the river towards Murcia is pleasant also. So a very enjoyable stopover.Guest review byDavidIreland

The location is excellent , we where on a motorbike the parking is across the road. All the staff where really pleasant and helpful. The cafe bar served good food and we found the prices reasonable. The streets in the town centre are very narrow which are shared by pedestrians and cars and at times come too close for comfort. A number of the bars and restaurants are closed for a number of days during the week or some permanently due to lack of staff!! The food served in most places was Tapas, Raciones which were mainly very good if not too different from one bar to another. If you are sightseeing by car be prepared for challenging mountain roads and local rally drivers. The town has a lot of charm but as a natural reserve better not to be visited in the hot summer months.Guest review byJohnIreland - 8.0

The castle on top of the village is worth visiting.
The castle on top of the village is worth visiting. We only had time to do one of the trails. We also highly recommend the restaurant just above the church, which has wonderful views from the TerraceGuest review byDavidCanada - 8.0
Interesting and picturesque castle.
Interesting and picturesque castle. Lovely views and walks from the village (though probably more from nearby Cazorla). We travelled in April, just after Easter, and there were no restaurants open in the village, so the one small minarket had to suffice. Had the weather been better, we could probably have walked into Cazorla village where there may have been places to eatGuest review byLornaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If your time is limited I would much rather stay in close by Ubeda which in my view outclasses Cazorla by far. From Ubeda take the road behind Cazorla to the Parador. Maybe stroll a few minutes in Cazorla. The roads are very very steep and very very narrow and… there is quite a bit of traffic - locals commuting. There are not that many restaurants in Cazorla (out of season that is) and again Ubeda is much better from this point. Then take the N322 back to Ubeda and you’ll have one of the most scenic drives of your life.Guest review byMaartenCzech Republic - 10.0
Stunning Spanish nature and culture experience!
Stunning Spanish nature and culture experience! The tiny white historic village, very well decorated cozy room with view to the mountains, super welcoming host, the authentic restaurant - 100% relax. Highly recommended!Guest review byAkvileLithuania - 10.0
Beautiful old city with incredible views.
Beautiful old city with incredible views. Do not drive in the town, just walk! Streets are narrow and diesel fumes are pervasive. Walking tours are fun. Lots of places to shop, eat, and just sit and watch people. Trails and roads up into the mountains are easily found. In 5 minutes you can be in the mountains with a stream, forest, and incredible views over the town. I love it here! The Hotel Ciudad is a great gathering place.Guest review byMorningstar - 8.0

The immediate reaction is a pretty, hill top white painted village topped with a fort. However only one shop (which did try to hold everything you might need) and two restaurants, neither of which came up to expectations. There is a swimming pool which did not exactly inspire and there is a bullring. Views from the village were spectacular. Parking in the village, especially for apartments, was difficult and not always possible.Guest review byMalcolmSpain
