FAQs about hotels on Tenerife
Fun and Sun All Year Round
The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has sun, sand and sangria all year round. Its landscape is dominated by volcanic Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose peak is covered by snow. There are fabulous views over Tenerife and the surrounding islands from the cable car that takes you up.
However, most visitors flock to the island for its beaches. The most exclusive area is Costa Adeje, home to most 5-star hotels in Tenerife. It also houses Aqualand waterpark with waterslides, pools and a dolphinarium, while next door Playa de las Americas boasts Siam Park – Europe’s largest waterpark.
This resort is the island’s party capital and features a large number of Tenerife hotels with swimming pools, and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Adjoining Los Cristianos also has a long, sandy beach.
The southern Tenerife beaches are actually artificial, made from white sand imported from the Sahara Desert, because the natural ones are black sand. Tenerife resorts with just such a beach include Puerto de la Cruz and Los Gigantes, which is dramatically sheltered by sheer cliffs.
The capital – Santa Cruz – is the arrival point for ferries from the other Canaries and has a huge, annual carnival. Wherever you decide to stay, check out the Tenerife hotel deals on Booking.com.

- From £235.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,209 reviewsI cannot say enough good things about our stay. We were in a villa with jacuzzi & had a fantastic sleep every night thanks to the huge cloud soft bed & blackout blinds. The view from our terrace was fabulous. The room was very clean. The staff were all so friendly and we loved the little touches - a glass of bubbles on arrival, giving out watermelon by the pool etc. One thing I loved about this hotel is that unlike lots of other resorts, there were plenty of sun loungers so we didn’t feel like we had to compete for space. We loved the pool area, which felt like it was set in a garden - lots of trees and greenery etc and the cocktails from the pool bar are reasonably priced. We enjoyed the pools so much that we barely left the hotel. We were very impressed with the breakfast & had an enjoyable meal in the property’s Italian restaurant one night too. The location is a bit further out so we had a long walk or an e scooter ride to restaurants etc. The beach is a short walk down a big hill but that wasn’t a problem for us.Guest review byGraceUnited States
- From £179.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 4,643 reviewsEverything was perfect. My sister and I were here for a relaxation week and it was memorable. We are both visually impaired, and the staff went above and beyond to assist us when needed, and everyone was extremely pleasant. The duty manager, Myriam, was highly professional and insured we always got the help we needed. Thanks a lot also to Jason for showing us around. Alexa and the rest of the staff at the main restaurant were super helpful, and Joe from guest relations was also literally the nicest ever, he made sure we had a great time. The staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful at all times The bed was super comfortable, breakfast was great and varied. The cafe and pool bars all offer great service. The rooftop bar. is great, we loved the vibes and we got the best shisha ever, thanks Jony, if I got the name right 😄 We also enjoyed all the drinks we got. The spa and waterzone were also great. All the hotel areas smelled really good We are definitely coming back! 😊Guest review bymariamNorway
- From £269.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 599 reviewsWe had an absolutely amazing room with one of the most comfortable bed and pillows i have ever encountered in the hotels. The whole territory of the hotel is so great, full of beautiful plants, cozy and stylish lounge areas. As we travelled with the baby it was very nice to have an opportunity to walk around with the stroller, everything is easily accessible with the stroller, also heated pool was appreciated by us and the baby. The location is great as well, with the direct access to the beautiful beach and a promenade along the shore. All the communication with the staff was super positive, they are professional and at the same time friendly and funny. We mostly were ordering dinners from the room service and it was all very nicely organised: fast, beautifully arranged and quite good quality, i was only missing some sauces to the meat and fish, in the result the dishes seemed a bit dry.Guest review byAlenaSweden
- From £46.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 3,546 reviewsThe facility is located in a perfect location, 20 minutes from the city center and beautiful beaches. A great opportunity to take a walk after breakfast or lunch. There are parking spaces everywhere, that's what worried us the most. There are large parking lots by the beaches that are free. From the building on two sides there are beautiful botanical gardens and stairs A.C. The staff is friendly, our rooms are cleaned every day. Cleaning is included in the price. The cleaning ladies regularly changed towels and made our beds. That thrilled me. The swimming pool is also part of the building. Recommendations and we will certainly return to the same facility.Guest review bySanjaCroatia
- From £210.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 317 reviewsThe hotel is composed of different apartments which are fully equipped with all sort of things for cooking, sleeping and showering. The staff is very kind, professional, friendly and attentive. They also suggested us what to visit and helped us to book a car to visit the island. If you love quiet is the perfect place but if you want restaurants, surf schools, supermarkets or clubs you can find everything just outside. I recommend to include the breakfast as the choice of food is very wide and you’ll fall in love with the freshly made omelette! I’ll be staying there if I come back to Tenerife, the island of never ending summer!Guest review byFabsieDenmark

Lots for families if you want it e.g. activities, entertainment, but also easy to find a quiet spot and not a very touristy location so a short walk from the hotel you're at the beachfront with local restaurants and cafés.Guest review byJenniferUnited Kingdom

Temperature was just right for me in July not too hot with a cool breeze. Lots to see and do great places to eat, I recommend Brunelli's Steakhouse for the most magnificent views and great food. Also a small Italian Cucci for pasta and pork dishes were excellent. Not many English mostly Spanish out enjoying themselves. A must go to bar is Hawa Rooftop Bar, on the promenade modern hotel the Silken Saaj Maar. Free to go to for non residents after 18:00 just press the buzzer in the vestibule by the glass doors and ask to go to the bar get in the lift and floor 6. I was advised to rent a car and it was definitely the correct decision transfers are expensive and it's just over an hour drive from the airport on great roads.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We really enjoyed our stay in Adeje.
We really enjoyed our stay in Adeje. It’s a great location for anyone looking for adventure and fun. I came with my teenage boys, and we loved: Siam Park Jet ski and other sea adventures Go-karting Beaches and shopping We hired a car to get around — driving was easy and there’s plenty of paid parking near most places. The weather was hot, but that’s exactly what we expected. Food was very good, especially at the beachside restaurants — you can find all types of cuisine. The area is very tourist-friendly. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for families who want both relaxation and exciting activities.Guest review byMuthuUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The area is perfect for all ages
The area is perfect for all ages It is desired by adults for the wonderful view it offers. The long walks with the different terraces that invite you are a dream. The important thing is that the beach is public everywhere and is not private. Accommodations have very good prices. 4-star hotels are around 120 euros per night. For young people there is nightlife with parties on the seashore. Food is for all tastes. - there are higher prices for quality food as well as lower prices. The menu of the day costs 13 euros.Guest review byGabrielaRomania - 10.0

Apartment was nice and modern and clean
Apartment was nice and modern and clean Massive bed and nice shower cubicle Nice balcony overlooking Main Street near buddies bar Great location for local pubs and restaurants and only 10 minutes to beach Very hit while we visited but there was a fan in the bedroom But I think going forward air conditioning will be needed as the weather is getting hotter and more regular I would comment that there has recently been a Indian restaurant opened below the apartment so there is a regular smell of curry coming from below so it can be a bit much if patio is open or you are sat out on balconyGuest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Local supermarket very handy. Quiet for those that don't like hustle and bustle of a lively resort. Would recommend the Lava Beach Cafe in Golf Del Sur for breakfast or lunch. Also the Wild Geese pub for drinks and foodGuest review byTracyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

As my husband is not very mobile, El Medano is ideal as it is mainly flat and easy to walk. There is a wooden boardwalk along the sea front. Restaurants, shops a large square and a childrens' play area are all within easy reach.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A lot of nice beaches with restaurants and bars for all ages...
A lot of nice beaches with restaurants and bars for all ages, starting point to El Teide mountain, close to airport, the city is very clean and neat. Big disadvantage is public car parking, it's very hard to find some, so we parked in underground garages, which cost more than the rental fee itself.Guest review byAnonymousSlovenia - 10.0
The city consists of three parts.
The city consists of three parts. The historic part with beautiful and charming streets. The villa part with beautiful gardens, trees, houses, and the part where people live tightly and where the most is happening. Lots of street culture, lots of cultural attractions. Lots of opportunities for good food.Guest review byDariuszPoland
