Even though there was other cottages by the lake this one was separated enough and there was very good privacy. We really loved the hot tub with the excellent view! The shower and sauna premises were great. The other side of the cottage with the bed and other stuff was quite small but everything could be found there. It was also very well explained what the size is so then we could be prepared. There was anyway enough space to sleep, cook and wash the dishes and it was great to barbeque outside as well! We stayed there during the midsummer several nights and it was great fun! Some might say it's challenging to stay in small space but actually this brings people closer to each other. It was also nice to go for a rowing trip with the boat. Also the customer service was fast and friendly. Everything worked very well. I'm more than happy to say I really recommend this place. There were five small cottages in a kind of hall. You can share a kitchenette, a kind of common room, 2 toilets and a shower. There is also a small seating area outside. I personally really liked the furnishings. The small cottages are individually furnished in different ways, but definitely with a lot of love. The landlord is on site and there was also a nice contact person to keep things tidy. I really liked it and I already miss my little cave. It was very quiet, considering that all the houses were rented out, and there was no traffic jam outside the bathroom either. It was really nice and I hope I have the opportunity to come back again. I visited this town many times and I find nothing new.
I visited this town many times and I find nothing new. The radio-communication museum is excellent. A short distance from this museum there is a little lake. If the weather is hot a bathing/swimming there is the right activity. (and after that, the cakes!) From Patria there is a short walk to the Museum and my favorite mini lake. Lahti is only an hour from Helsinki. We went for a triathlon but it would be great for anyone who loves the great outdoors. The 50m outdoor pool is a highlight and there are a lots of lakeside activities - we did paddleboarding. Lots of hiking options and the locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. The scooters (Tier) are excellent for nipping around the town and they are cheap too. There are lots of paths and cycleways so it is perfectly safe. You can also use bikes but they are a lot heavier and more expensive. The town itself is not too special but it is the open areas, the space, the countryside, the lake etc that make it a great destination. We hired a car from Helsinki airport and the driving to Lahti is easy with lots of options for parking too. We went in June and it was super hot - which apparently isn't normal!
